As a therapist, I operate from the lens that therapy is 'liberatory practice' that increases our capacity to care for ourselves and as needed, those around us. A therapist is a skilled companion who can help you discern the difference between closed, porous, and healthy boundaries. Intergenerational trauma, systemic trauma, violence and other forms of immense distress can lead to feelings of persistent worry, hopelessness, and difficulty connecting to our sense of self and the world around us.

Life consists of many highs and lows, celebrations and losses. During the lows, feelings of sadness, uncertainty, anxiety, and hopelessness can feel overwhelming; the desire to numb, disconnect & isolate may take over. These behaviors may provide temporary relief from the discomfort; however, our bodies hold memories and experiences, and in time, the negative feelings may resurface or worsen. One way difficult and powerful feelings such as shame, guilt, and fear lose their power is by bringing them into the light while in the presence of a caring, non-judgmental witness.

Feeling down, hopeless, lost? Does your mind race endlessly and you're not sure how to make it stop? Or maybe you’re doing well, and everyone thinks you’re fine, but you know you’re just going through the motions. Or maybe you’re tired of what perfectionism or people-pleasing is doing to you. If any of those statements apply, you’re in the right place.

I view therapy as a partnership where the majority of the work is done outside of the session. I assign Self- Work (Homework) for my clients. I want you to get the credit for building a better version of yourself. I’m here to bring awareness and help you make sense of out whatever you are currently dealing with. I serve women between the ages of 25- 65 who are struggling with adjusting post-breakup or divorce. Additionally, I also help married couples repair their broken relationships through the beautiful art of Marriage Therapy. Prior to becoming a clinical therapist, I worked in the field of Child Welfare and public schools

Hello Beautiful! Making the choice to come to therapy is not always easy. However, an hour a week in a therapy session allows you to spend time taking care of yourself mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Uncovering and discussing issues that are challenging in your life can be viewed as something you want to avoid--- or it can give you a sense of freedom! It is all in how you choose to view it. You are in charge of your thoughts! You are the master of how you view your experiences and most importantly, how you view yourself.

I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. Reaching out for support often comes during a time of crisis or after living for many years with the weight emotional pain. Bringing people from crisis to hope is the forefront of my practice. The lack of access to quality mental health care for persons of color is real, and mental health needs are at times unmet. My cultural competence through life experience has allowed me to work well with individuals of diverse backgrounds.

I am especially passionate about the healing and wellbeing of POC, QTPOC, Women, and young adults. I understand how the intersectionality of our identities impacts our experience of the world, and I strive to provide a safe, warm, and supportive space for those experiences to be discussed.

Many people go through the stages of life and forget to take the time to reflect and take care of their mental health. I believe it is very important to make your mental health a priority. Your mind is connected to your physical and spiritual well-being, if one is unhealthy this affects the others. With the daily challenges of enduring a pandemic, dealing with social, and political issues, I am here to be an advocate and partner in helping individuals better themselves and their mental health. There may be stigmas or taboos surrounding mental health in your communities, but I am here to say that YOU and your mental health matter.
