I strive to hold a safe space to facilitate human connection, for clients to feel both seen and heard through my commitment to empathic and active listening. I have experience working with a variety of presenting concerns (Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Bipolar, etc). I also appreciate working with perinatal clients with mood/anxiety disorders. I strongly stand behind the fact that support during this transitional time is hugely significant & I'm grateful for whenever I have the opportunity to assist families with this challenging but beautiful life shift.

Depression and anxiety are journeys I know personally. For over 20 years I lived with both before I found clarity and healing through CBT, EMDR. and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. These therapies helped me break free from painful patterns, challenge the thoughts that kept me stuck and rebuild confidence in myself. Therapy changed my life in meaningful ways and shaped how I work today. Now I am passionate about helping others feel safe, understood and hopeful again while creating real and lasting change. You do not have to face this alone, and reaching out can be the first step toward a healthier and fulfilling life.

I'm a therapist with over 8 years of experience helping teens and young adults work through life's challenges and grow.
Life can feel overwhelming when you’re trying to handle stress, relationships, work, and personal struggles all at once. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Many of the people I work with feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. They may be struggling with stress, anxiety, anger, relationship challenges, or the pressure of trying to handle everything on their own. Some have experienced trauma or difficult life transitions and are looking for healthier ways to cope.

Reaching out can be the most challenging task to engage in. Constant changes and life transitions can leave us feeling disconnected and overwhelmed. Relationships can feel strained with our partners, friends, family and even ourselves. Creating space to navigate these life impacts is one way I seek to help clients.

Life has a way of knocking us down, doesn’t it? It can be tough to create a life that feels fulfilling. We can find ourselves dissatisfied in our relationships, career, or life, and it can be difficult to shake the nagging sense that life has not turned out how we expected or hoped. Perhaps, you are struggling with a difficult boss or a job that doesn’t quite seem to fit your skill set. Or perhaps, no matter matter how hard you try you cannot seem to make progress with your relationships (whether that be your spouse, significant other, family, or friends), and it continues to be distant, disconnected, or conflicted.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
