Sometimes the hardest part is not the problem itself, but cyclical confusion and emotional agony. Those with strong inner lives often need to talk it out when they feel stuck, deeply lonely, and tired of repeating the same old unproductive patterns and/or arguments. Seeking professional support is an act of courageousness. Whether single or in a relationship, you may have devotion, effort, and care - but also confusion, distance or unspoken sadness. Perhaps now is the time to solve the problems that keep you held in the same frustrating cycles.

Some people are simply human medicine — after an hour with them, the world feels a little lighter. While I use a range of therapeutic techniques, I believe the most powerful part of the healing process is empathy and genuine understanding. I don’t just listen to my clients — I connect with them, helping them feel seen, heard, and supported. If you’re seeking that kind of “human medicine” and a compassionate space to be understood, I invite you to reach out.

Hello! I am Stephanie Kripa. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and compassionate place where people can get encouragement and support as they navigate through the challenges of life. I know something about failure, trauma, anxiety, poor self-esteem, and relationships. I also know something about what it takes to be with what hurts in a way that leads to an unwinding of stuck, repeating, and critical patterns in our lives. I get it, I’ve been there! Maybe you just need someone to talk to who will listen without judgment or blame. What if you could be Unstuck, heard, successful and at peace?

Welcome to therapy. You've taken the first step to find a safe space to explore the problems you're facing. I operate a quiet private practice, engaging individual adult clients with compassion, respect, and open-mindedness. With a mindfulness approach and through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, I begin the counseling process by identifying coping skills to calm chaotic emotions. Maybe you struggle with perfectionism, co-dependence, self-doubt or imposter syndrome. Maybe guilt haunts you, what you should have done or didn't do. We'll move on to a deeper level to understand and process worry, sadness, anger, or grief.

Many of the clients I work with feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in patterns that once helped them cope but no longer fit. They are often thoughtful, sensitive, and self-aware individuals who learned early how to adapt, take responsibility, or “hold it together,” and are now feeling the emotional weight of that role. Some are navigating ADHD, anxiety, trauma, grief, or major life transitions; others feel disconnected from themselves or unsure of who they are becoming. What they want most is not just symptom relief, but understanding, steadiness, and a way forward that feels authentic and sustainable.

Loss can feel never-ending. Grief, heartbreak, anxiety, and emotional pain can take over daily life and resurface old wounds. Trauma and loss often create patterns that affect relationships, self-worth, physical health, and peace of mind. Through my private practice, I provide a supportive space for adults working through grief, traumatic loss, depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, and unresolved emotional pain. Healing is possible, and no one has to navigate it alone. I help clients break free from self-defeating cycles, process past wounds and present struggles, discover hidden blockages and realize sustainable healing.

You have been sitting with your thoughts and seem to recycle your memories. You are excellent at suppressing your hurt and stay busy with work and life as a distraction. You no longer connect with others the way you used to and keep friends and family at a distance. The Pandemic may have increased your anxiety and depression and you are uncertain where to begin. Your worry and fear come out as; anger, sadness and controlling behaviors, due to questioning your worth and self esteem. Will I ever feel truly happy? Will I feel truly loved? Will I find my life path and the career that makes my soul soar? Will I learn to forgive?

Everyone deserves a sense of control over their lives. When terrible things happen it can feel like the wind has been knocked out of you. The world feels unsafe. Feelings of deep sadness, fear, shame and a rawness seem to linger. Many people feel as though they are damaged goods and wonder if they will ever be themselves again, or if they will ever be happy again. Imagine what it will be like when you have more good days then bad, when you feel the laughter, when you hear your child start to sing again. In a relaxed, safe environment you will receive support, encouragement, and the skills you need to thrive not just survive.

Divorce Therapists
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
