Life hands us lemons sometimes. Learning and adapting, strategizing and coping differently are key in improving satisfaction in relationships and functioning day to day. People are my passion. Joining your team means patience and understanding for where you are vs. where you wish to be. Poking some holes in current patterns and thinking can help you get there. Improving communication with key players in your life can make a world of difference.

There are many reasons why people seek counseling. Sometimes it's to deal with long-standing issues with anxiety or depression; other times it is in response to unexpected changes in life such as a divorce, a death or work transition. Therapy provides insight & new perspectives into life's challenges, helps you to create solutions & confidence to make changes. I create a safe, warm, non-judgmental environment for you to explore your choices & emotions, to give you the opportunity to gain insight, self-confidence & new coping skills to navigate life's obstacles more effectively.

My goals are to listen to you openly and without judgement. Life can be hard and there are times when the stress feels more overwhelming. I strive to assist you with what your unique needs are and help you find solutions that are right for you. Being a parent and/or spouse and meeting all of the needs that are placed on you can cause you to need someone to talk to openly and honestly. I am also adept at working with children and helping parents and their children experience joy together while learning how to provide necessary support.

Potential Clients- It’s inevitable at some point something happens and we don't know how to address it more-less fix it. It is vital to have someone who will actually listen and accept us as we are flaws and all, without judgment or pity. My education and background allows me to have a unique approach to counseling. LLPC’s- If you are looking for someone who will help you get fully licensed as quickly as possible then I am your person. Even the most experienced therapists struggle- what’s more important is what you learn from that struggle. You deserve a strong supervisor who has a solid grasp on ethics and our profession.

My heart for young people is what drove me to become a therapist. Middle school, high school, the figuring it out years after high school and the first few years in the “real” world are tolerated much better when not walking alone. I offer a person- centered relational approach to therapy. Humans were not made to walk through life alone.

Have you ever been told "just think positive?" I wonder why it is that we are not allowed to think negatively? Why are we so often told to look on the bright side but not comfortable looking on the gloomier side? We experience such an array of emotions, so why not become comfortable getting to know them all? I have had clients express their dread of therapy, but after one session, they began to open up and share their excitement about their new journey of self-discovery and healing.

I incorporates traditional talk therapy techniques with carefully selected art media to allow clients to explore personal struggle through color, line and form. It is thru the creative process and the subsequent artwork where I aids clients in beginning their therapeutic journey. Art therapy is an effective therapeutic approach for clients across the lifespan. It can be applied to treat any mental health issues, or life challenge, be it short-term or ongoing. Anyone is a good candidate for art therapy. For many, it can be difficult to talk about complex issues.

What if children and young adults could be seen as capable and wise? What would happen if we quieted ourselves just enough to let them teach us how to better understand their unique selves? What would it look like if every young person was given a safe space to sort through childhood hardships instead of burying them until they leaked into every aspect of their adult lives?

Here, we wonder with you what it would mean for your relationships if we turned toward the conflict instead away.

Reaching out for support is the first step! Difficult friendships, periods of self-doubt, trauma, and major life changes often place people in situations were extra support is helpful. In these moments, you may want a listening ear, advice, or resources to move from a place of fear and frustration to a place of action, success, and thriving.

We don't operate in the world as the world is but as we perceive it to be. Our experiences shape our perceptions which in turn influence how we understand and interpret our experiences. We didn't get to choose our start in life nor did we have control over what happened to us. However, we have the burden and responsibility to change, grow, and heal. This life is your story and you have the capacity to change how it is written.

Teen Therapists
Adolescence can be a time of both disorientation and discovery. The transitional period can raise questions of independence and identity; as adolescents cultivate their sense of self, they may face difficult choices about academics, friendship, sexuality, gender identity, drugs, and alcohol.

Most teens have a relatively egocentric perspective on life; a state of mind that usually abates with age. They often focus on themselves and believe that everyone else—from a best friend to a distant crush—is focused on them too. They may grapple with insecurities and feelings of being judged. Relationships with family members often take a backseat to peer groups, romantic interests, and appearance, which teens perceive as increasingly important during this time.

The transition can naturally lead to anxiety about physical development, evolving relationships with others, and one's place in the larger world. Mild anxiety and other challenges are typical, but serious mental health conditions also emerge during adolescence.
