Oh the healing power of therapy! I feel passionate that everyone has a unique life story, and that some of life's chapters deserve a closer look to bring about improved coping, healing, and positive change. My approach is eclectic and trauma informed. I draw upon reality theory and the study of behaviors and neurocognitive development. I use CBT, mindfulness, and other practices as appropriate. The goals of therapy and the techniques used are based on each client's individual needs. I am proud to be working with community agencies, corrections and families for over 15 years.
Not accepting new clients: I gravitate to "working outside the box" with individuals, groups, couples, and families whose lives have been negatively impacted by trauma. I have focused on women and men who were physically, emotionally or sexually abused as children or individuals traumatized as adults. Treating veterans and/or active duty military personnel who have served in war zones is of special interest to me. I have seen first hand the difficulty so many of them have reintegrating into their families and into civilian life. I find a tremendous amount of fulfillment and joy walking with them on their journey back into life.
It takes immense strength and courage to reach out for help. It is an honor and a privilege to be allowed to walk alongside someone through their journey of self-exploration, growth and healing. Before anything else, I believe that it is my job to provide a safe, empathetic, non-judgmental environment for you to share your story. No one is immune to stress, overwhelming emotions and various forms of crisis throughout their life. I believe that you are the expert on your life and I welcome hearing your story in order to walk with you through your life experiences

You deserve to be happy in your journey through life and develop meaningful relationships. Feel free to call or email me and we can determine if I would be a good fit for you and your needs.
Everyone deserves a sense of control over their lives. When terrible things happen it can feel like the wind has been knocked out of you. The world feels unsafe. Feelings of deep sadness, fear, shame and a rawness seem to linger. Many people feel as though they are damaged goods and wonder if they will ever be themselves again, or if they will ever be happy again. Imagine what it will be like when you have more good days then bad, when you feel the laughter, when you hear your child start to sing again. In a relaxed, safe environment you will receive support, encouragement, and the skills you need to thrive not just survive.
Entering therapy can feel intimidating, so I want to create a space where you can feel in control of your treatment and goals for improving your life. Whether you have been in therapy before or this is new, I want to work with you to create the best plan to get you where you want to be in life. Each client is unique, so each path of treatment should be unique.

“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light.”-J.K Rowling. I realize that there are times in which we just need help finding our way back to our own light. I believe that everyone experiences times in their life when its difficult to remember how to fully turn on the light within and are in need of someone to walk beside them.
