Your authority is in your authenticity, simply meaning the more honest, accepting, vulnerable and open you are with yourself first, is the more empowered you will be to address and heal any area of your life. We must radically accept our selves with compassion and honor. Self honor is the beginning of personal freedom. Radical self acceptance is the antecedent. I promote and empower positivity in your daily reality. Many of us struggle with societal and internal pressures and judgements. Because we judge ourselves in our minds, we find ourselves trapped often in them, limiting our potential and dishonoring our truths. I want to partner with you by helping you get out of your mind and past ways and get into your life, living in the present possibilities. My ideal client(s) are people who are willing to learn and grow within. I have no biases with religion, size, race, sexuality age and gender. It is my practice to be judgement free and accepting.

You’re stuck in the vicious cycle of negativity and plagued by the broken feeling. There are many struggles in the day and it is suffocating trying to cope. Looking in a mirror, finding it hard to recognize yourself anymore, wondering is this really my life? Who is this person? How do I love myself again? The things that have been seen, felt, and heard tear at your heartstrings. It is a struggle to fill the cups of those you love, because yours is running empty. There is fear, frustration, sadness, and a lack of hope. Waking up, getting out of bed, and just functioning daily feels daunting. There seems to be no one to turn to.

Hi, my name is Erin! What we believe is our reality. Imagine if we could learn how to rewire our own internal belief system into something that molds exactly what we want our lives to look like. Imagine if we had the power to change our limiting belief patterns and the way we block ourselves, then transform our beliefs into something that attracts and creates the life we want to have. We can do this and I want to teach you how! I am an enthusiast of life despite the fact that life is far from easy. As humans with a thinking mind we go through many different waves and phases of life and not all of those are pretty.

Healthy connections provide for relationships wherein we feel integrated, empowered, and validated. When these connections are damaged we can suffer physical pain, social isolation, instability and internal fragmentation. It’s at these times, a supportive advocate can assist in repairing damaged or lost connections through a therapeutic rapport. My work is done in relationship with you, exploring how stress, trauma, addiction or disease has impacted your connections and deciding which ones need to be repaired to restore balance to your life.

Bipolar Disorder Therapists

What is the most successful approach to treating bipolar disorder?

Living with bipolar disorder can be challenging, and a number of therapies have been found effective in providing support to patients as they gain the skills to understand and manage the disorder. Family-focused therapy is often helpful for children and teens (the majority of cases develop before age 19); it aims to minimize mood cycling by improving family communication and reducing conflict. It also helps young people navigate the developmental challenges the disorder can create. Cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) and variants such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) help patients manage the thoughts and feelings that influence bipolar mood swings as well as develop specific behavioral strategies to counteract them.

What happens in therapy for bipolar disorder?

Because the patterns of mood switching and its triggers differ for each person and can change over time, mood tracking or monitoring becomes a basic way patients learn about the nature of their condition. One of the most common features of therapy is finding a workable method of mood monitoring, in which patients track their daily activities and rate their moods, then use the findings to adjust routines accordingly. Patients learn ways of handling the many stresses that arise in life so that they do not trigger mood swings.

What kinds of problems does therapy help with?

Like many other mental health disorders, BPD is heavily influenced by stress; therapy provides skills for coping with stressors of all kinds. Therapy is extremely important for helping individuals identify the situations that may trigger mood switching, so that mood swings can be prevented. Therapy may especially target recognition of the early stages of mood change so that they can be managed. In addition, therapy helps patients deal with the significant amount of turbulence the disorder can create in relationships and in work life.

What is the goal of therapy for bipolar disorder?

Therapy helps patients set up their lives to maintain stability so that their mood isn’t constantly threatened by daily events. Perhaps the first task of therapy is to educate people about the nature of the disorder. At the same time, a primary goal of therapy is to enhance adherence to drug treatment. Extended periods of mood stability can prompt patients to discontinue medication, triggering relapse, while the early phases of manic episodes can feel so energizing that patients stop medication, ushering in full-blown mania and the altered self-perception that can lead to destructive behaviors. Another major goal of therapy is to understand one’s mood patterns so as to minimize both the frequency and intensity of mood cycling.
