I work with thoughtful, driven adults who feel stuck between who they are and the life they’re expected to live. Many of my clients have built lives that look fulfilling from the outside, yet internally find themselves dealing with anxiety, mood concerns, burnout, relational trauma, ADHD, or relationship difficulties.
Having worked as a musician, I specialize in supporting creative professionals and others whose careers don’t allow for full expression of their creativity, leaving them feeling constrained or inauthentic. My practice is inclusive of the full spectrum of neurodiversity and is queer-allied and body-positive.

Most people will experience emotional and psychological distress at some point in their lives. And, most people will go through it without seeking help, thereby prolonging their suffering unnecessarily. Some people choose to do this because they are unsure about what therapy can provide. Therapy helps by trying to make sense out of our experiences, by trying to figure out why we feel and do the things that we feel and do. By making sense of our experiences, it helps us to understand ourselves, to change and to live a more satisfying and fulfilling life.

I work with capable, high-functioning adults who carry significant responsibility but find themselves feeling anxious, stretched thin, or stuck in patterns that aren’t shifting. On the outside, they manage careers, relationships, and expectations well, yet internally feel the cumulative weight of sustained stress.
They want clarity, steadiness, and practical movement, not endless processing. Many operate in high-responsibility roles, including leadership, healthcare, and law enforcement, and are looking for a focused, confidential space to think clearly, recalibrate, and regain footing.

Welcome, I am glad you’re here. Chances are that if you’re looking for therapy services then you might have been struggling for quite some time and finally have decided to give therapy a try. Congrats, this is often the hardest step, and as a fellow guy, I know hard it can be. At MDMT we primarily work with “men’s issues”, aka, the way in which men deal with mental health concerns. I often start working with guys when some patterns or habits have now grown into overwhelming burdens that may be threatening things like our ability to work, maintain relationships, or keep emotions like anger and shame at bay.

Research has found that the single most important component of successful psychotherapy is the relationship between patient and therapist. I have found this to be true in my clinical experience. My extensive training has given me the skills to be an effective psychotherapist. People call a psychologist because they want to change some part of their lives. I have dedicated myself to being an agent of change and assisting people to actualize their goals. I enjoy my work while also taking into account the life changing seriousness of this endeavor.

My goal is to assist you in recognizing your inherent strengths that have been developed as a result of your unique experiences. Everyone comes to this moment with their own set of beliefs, values, morals, and expectations. You are stronger than you think. You are more capable than you think. Oftentimes individuals, couples, and families may not recognize their own resilience and their ability to break toxic cycles that may exist within relationships. Sometimes experiences can overwhelm us, and make us feel that we don’t know the way forward. The process of therapy is turning those overwhelming feelings into a road map.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.
How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.
Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.
Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
