I approach the therapeutic
relationship
with intent to develop a supportive, empathetic, and beneficial
relationship
that remains fluid to meet your personal needs for emotional growth, processing, and understanding of deep-seated reactions to your environment.
You don’t need a diagnosed condition to benefit from talking to someone. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, so I utilize a person-centered approach. You are the focus. Your experience, goals, desired results, and expectations from therapy will be the first topic. I provide a welcoming, comfortable, and safe space that utilizes a range of integrative treatments that allow you to challenge, reflect, and accept yourself. I believe in the role of attachment-based & somatic-based interventions which allow for the healing of the nervous system. I specialize in treating trauma/adverse life experiences, anxiety, and depressive disorders.

If you're struggling in a
relationship
, with a particular issue, or just don't feel like yourself anymore, therapy may be right for you. Here you'll find a relaxed and empathetic environment where you can safely identify and explore those issues that may be getting in the way of you experiencing a more fulfilling life or
relationship
. My goal is to not merely treat the symptom, but help you understand the underlying cause of it. So for instance, not just minimize the behavioral display of anger, anxiety or depression, or whatever the concern is, but help you understand why you're so prone to experiencing it. The result is that you'll become much more empowered to live and feel the way you want. And, you'll inevitably become more confident in dealing with your present concerns in a way that will make lasting positive change.

I work with individuals and
couples
covering a wide range of personal issues.
Whether the change you desire for yourself is great or small, each of us has within us, the strength to live a life of joy, peace and success. My approach to therapy is to help you identify how you can take charge of what is holding you back and help you move toward a healthier you. How? First, by learning more about yourself, including how you might be your own worst enemy in achieving your own success and happiness. Then I will support and coach you as you begin taking action and pursue what is most important to you – personal happiness, better relationships, living a more purposeful or rewarding life.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
