It's more than worrying. It's more than stress. Anxiety is getting in your way-affecting you at work, at school, or in your relationships. Racing or obsessive thoughts may make it next to impossible to focus or be present in your life. These feelings may cause you to avoid things you love, make you fear your own thoughts, or get in the way of healthy relationships. Your anxiety may cause physical symptoms or a general sense of doom or unease. This can be frustrating or absolutely terrifying. With empathy, honesty, a sense of humor, and respect, I can help you be free of fear!

I utilize a range of interventions from such evidence-based practices as CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy ( DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction.
My clients often feel like they’ve never quite fit into the world. Many have experienced being outcast, bullied, or othered, which can manifest as anxiety, depression, OCD, or addiction. I work with neurodivergent, queer and highly creative individuals who have unique interests and talents. I love learning from my clients and celebrating what makes them unique. I believe the space held between therapist and client is sacred. It is a privilege and honor to be invited to take part in your life journey. My goal is to be your therapeutic partner and help you foster your strength and resilience. You are more than a trauma or diagnosis.

You might look like you’re holding everything together on the outside, but inside feel overwhelmed, stuck in the same relationship patterns, or constantly overthinking your decisions. Many of the adults I work with are thoughtful and capable, yet still feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, or unsure why certain reactions keep repeating. My style is warm, curious, and gently direct. In therapy, we slow things down, explore patterns, and make sense of what’s beneath the surface so change can feel steady and lasting.

I provide a non-judgmental atmosphere so my clients can be free to express their feelings unapologetically. I provide traditional therapy in a non-traditional way. Let’s TALK!

So listen…I am not sure how long you have been hoping to either start therapy for the first time or get back to it, but congratulations on taking another step towards your healing journey. Therapy with me is for those with the desire to become more unapologetic about their mental health and wellness. Whether you tend to feel responsible for others’ actions, emotions, or perceptions of you, have often noticed that you struggle with maintaining and respecting healthy boundaries, or notice you dont receive the same energy that you give others…know that, feeling more empowered and valued in your relationships is possible.

I support children, teenagers, and adults with a focus on anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bullying, gender dysphoria, obsessive thoughts, suicidal ideation, and ADHD. I have been asked why I chose to work as a therapist, and my answer is: there is no bigger badge of honor than having the trust of someone else as they open up about their challenges in life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
