I enjoy providing support for children, teenagers, and young adults by getting to know them, their interests, and their difficulties. I focus on social/emotional skills such as communicating feelings in a healthy way and practicing emotional regulation skills. In my practice, I have noticed that self-awareness and understanding provides a good foundation for growth. These tools and others are helpful for navigating problems such as anxiety, low self-esteem, anger, depression, and relationship difficulties.

I am a Licensed Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Michigan, with 18 years of experience providing therapy in multi-faceted ways. I have worked as a medical social worker, providing therapy for those suffering from a variety of hardships. I have worked as an addictions counselor for those with substance dependence and their families. I specialize in working with other professionals who struggle with mood or substance abuse issues. I have experience treating depression, anxiety/panic, trauma, women's issues, relationship issues, career issues, and those with a combination of physical and mental health issues.

Jenison Psychological Services is Jenison's largest psychological practice and has been providing services for over 20 year. You will feel comfortable sharing your life in our beautiful, private offices with exceptionally trained, seasoned professionals specializing in a variety of mental health and substance use issues. Samantha is a Limited Licensed Social Worker who obtained her Masters degree from Spring Arbor University. Samantha has experience working with children and teen survivors of sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma. She believes strongly in creating a safe space to bring about healing and change. Samantha strongly believes in authentic connection in the therapy space and strives to create that with each client. She is trained in TF-CBT and utilizes trauma informed approaches when working with clients. In her free time she enjoys going hiking and bike riding with family, and caring for her two horses and dog.

I enjoy coaching clients and professionals through life-stressors, trauma recovery (PTSD), mediating relational issues in couples and family therapy, and helping clients develop healthy coping skills for anxiety, depression, mood and impulse disorders. I help clients set and reach achievable long and short term goals to give them a sense of productivity and accomplishment through solution-focused therapy. If you are in need of specific resources or community services, I walk alongside my clients to identify needs and coordinate services. I welcome clients at all stages of mental health wellness.

My goal as a therapist is to provide my clients with a safe, supportive environment, to explore their current situation, address areas of concern, and acquire a new sense of hope, health, and happiness.
