“I know what it feels like to carry loss, self-doubt, and exhaustion. I lost my father at eight, struggled with bullying and learning challenges, and for years wondered if I would ever find my place. Later came struggles with infertility, difficult pregnancies, and the overwhelming pressure of trying to be everything to everyone — wife, mom, daughter, coworker, friend — while quietly losing myself in the process. At times, I felt like no matter how hard I tried, it was never enough.”

I have a special passion for working with young adults, adults, and mental health professionals. My approach is rooted in Person-Centered Planning & Evidence-Based Practices, focusing on areas such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, codependency, & boundary-setting. I believe trust, openness, and honesty are the foundation of growth.
It can feel difficult to prioritize our own needs, sometimes we too carry the weight of stress, burn out, and personal challenges. Supporting clients in finding balance, regaining perspective, and nurturing their own mental health is work I deeply value.

Our team is trauma informed (all participate in regular continuing education, case consultation) with a wide variety of specialties ranging from (but not limited to) grief/loss, eating disorders, substance abuse, children/adolescents, and anxiety/depression.
Since 2000, Treeside has been serving the community in a charming downtown 1899 Victorian property that puts clients at ease. We want clients to be able to find a clinician that they can stay with, rather than starting over with new clinicians when a practice has high turnover. If you are seeking a clinician with robust clinical training at a practice with low turnover, we have a diverse team that works with a wide variety of concerns. Further, if finding a Christian clinician that integrates faith is important to you, our entire team identifies as Christians from a variety of denominations.

I know life does not always go as planned. Sometimes we need to talk to someone. When we need help with our physical bodies, we see a medical doctor. When our mind and heart hurt and we need help untangling our thoughts and feelings, we find a therapist. I am here with you as we find sources of pain, learn skills to help, and build a life worth living.

In therapy, it's important to listen to the parts of you that you can't normally let out in everyday life. I aim to create a space where those parts can be let out and fully felt in a way that allows deeper self-connectedness. I believe that therapy is more than just reducing symptoms, but a way to live a more fulfilling life.

I specialize in developmental trauma, emotional neglect, and complex guilt.
Many of my clients come in carrying guilt, shame, and relentless self-criticism. They’ve spent years trying to be good, agreeable, or capable, often within family dynamics that made it hard to trust their own emotional reality. For many, that also meant muting parts of their identity to stay connected or safe. Now, relationships feel confusing or unsatisfying, and they struggle to make sense of how they react or relate. Therapy with me brings language and structure to patterns that once felt like personality flaws, and clients often describe finally understanding themselves in a way that makes emotional change feel possible.

I have a particular interest in trauma-informed care, substance-use recovery, ADHD/AuDHD management, building boundaries, learning self-esteem/self-trust, and working with queer and BIPOC individuals and families who have been marginalized based on their identity.
For marginalized people, Holistic Wellness is about finding a seat in a world marked by systemic barriers. Very often, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Disabled, and Neurodivergent people are denied seats at tables, and blocked from rooms that would make life more accessible. I see culturally competent therapy as a folding chair—a portable, adaptable, and transformative support system that we unfold into our lives to create our own spaces to thrive. My ideal client is honest, open, ready, and willing to work on themselves, name their inner demons, and learn to resist the systemic barriers that have tried to dictate their paths.

I am trained in somatic therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma.
You question if you are the problem or if you’re at fault for the issues in your life or what happened to you. From the moment you wake, your thoughts are racing, and through much of the day, you’re plagued with flashes of intrusive memories. The constant overwhelm causes you to struggle constantly, and it feels like peace is impossible. A voice in your head tells you to “feel your feelings,” but how do you do that without spiraling? On top of your inner chaos, the people in your life walk all over you without a care. You have been hearing a lot of talk of “setting boundaries,” but worry about pushing people away.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
