I am a feminist, a gender affirming, LGBTQIA+ advocate and supporter, and I know that one person can make a difference. If you need that person, come walk with me. If you are that person, let's work together to support the one who needs you. I work with parents navigating high conflict co-parenting, complex grief, traumatic loss, and life after emotional abuse. I believe that people know themselves best - you are the expert on yourself. I will suggest ideas and I hope that you'll try them and then give me feedback about what worked and what didn't.

DBT skills can help anyone manage life more effectively, and I introduce them to every client I work with.
Feeling seen and supported matters. In therapy, we create a space for your authentic self to be heard while we navigate life's challenges - grief, loss, fear, or overwhelm. I'll meet you where you are, and together we'll work toward the life you want.

I use evidence-based approaches including EMDR, DBT, and CBT to help clients process trauma, regulate emotions, and build healthier coping skills and relationships in a trauma-informed, supportive space.
You may feel overwhelmed by intense emotions, stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns, or unsure how to trust yourself or others. Unresolved trauma or PTSD may still feel present, impacting your reactions, self-worth, and sense of safety. You may be navigating borderline personality disorder (BPD), emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, or mood disorders, and want relief from exhausting, repetitive cycles. You’re seeking clarity, emotional stability, and effective therapy tools to feel more grounded, connected, and authentically yourself.

I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing tools in my practice.
Do you deal with feeling unmotivated? Or have ruminating thoughts over past issues and hurts? Are you feeling worried or overwhelmed? Trying to navigate feelings of low self-esteem about who you are? Have you always been the dependable one, the caretaker, the one who breaks barriers first? But lately, the weight of expectations, health struggles, and past hurts feels heavier than it should. You might be tired of explaining yourself, tired of being misunderstood, and tired of fighting to be seen. If you are facing any of these issues or others, I am here to provide support in a safe space where you feel heard and understood.

Existential dread, or adversity in everyday life antagonizes everyone at some point. Life seems to happen all the time, then, when it rains, it pours. Sometimes we suffer more than we triumph, and when we do, its easy to get lost. Seeking safety in our most vulnerable times can appear impossible, but it is not. I offer a safe space and understanding. My ideal client base are people who are seeking solutions, and willing to do the necessary actions to create the changes that they most prefer. When there is a problem, there are always multiple solutions. The goal is to help everyone no matter how complicated the problems/issues are.

I have experience in the human condition and incorporate many approaches, like Humanistic, DBT, IFS, MI, CBT, SE and psychodynamic theory.
A lot of the people Aaron works with are used to pushing through. They're working, showing up, handling responsibilities, maybe even doing well on paper, but underneath it can feel like something just isn’t clicking. They might notice: being overwhelmed or mentally stuck procrastination or difficulty following through frustration or shutdown in relationships reacting quickly and then regretting it later feeling misunderstood, especially by partners or coworkers For some, this is connected to ADHD, autism, or, it could be years of operating in high-stress environments without the right tools or understanding.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
