Is your family going through a major life change or stressor? Perhaps a parent or child is sick? Maybe there has been a
loss
, a move, or another big event? As a parent, you want so badly to support your child when they are dealing with changes, but sometimes you just don't know how. You might feel guilty, sad or frustrated that you don't know how to help. Your child may need their own space to process what is going on for them, as well as a safe space where you can work through these adjustments together. Therapy can be that space.

Asking for help can be incredibly difficult, but I'd like to help change that. Are you feeling overwhelmed after a
loss
? Do you feel stuck, trapped, helpless or lost in life? Are you anxious, angry or depressed while navigating a difficult life transition? Do you struggle with feelings of shame and/or low self-esteem? Or are you feeling stressed and in need of guidance entering a new phase of life? You don’t have to navigate these feelings alone.

Due to my life experiences I feel honored to treat a range of situations;
grief
and
loss
, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, public speaking fears (I use to hate speaking in front of groups, not now!) self-esteem, guilt, worry, trauma, PTSD, spiritual and metaphysical principles.
Are you feeling out of sorts? Maybe overwhelmed, sad, down, worry too much, hurt too much, and don’t know what do to next? Or maybe you are experiencing deep
grief
and would like some relief from the relentless tears and sadness. Believe me you are not alone. Remembering times in my life when I did not even know what I was feeling, I felt so isolated, lost and confused. I happened to stumble upon a professional that helped me. Someone that I could trust and felt very comfortable with. I was very hesitant to take this step but somehow I did. It was by far the best thing I have ever done for myself. This is why I became a therapist.

As a therapist I strive to listen with compassion and interest to help my clients hear their own voice. Reflected, this offers possibilities for greater self understanding, change, and new direction. My special areas of interest are exploring identity issues with adoptees and supporting those struggling with life transitions, including
grief
and
loss
.
I enjoy working with individuals of different ages, ethnicity, in need of individual, couples or family sessions. I believe that life is a journey, which at times, can be very challenging. Sometimes we find ourselves at a crossroads, trying to decide our direction. Staying on familiar paths can be easier yet repetitive and stagnant. Growth means change and following new paths, though unfamiliar and with unseen risks. Therapy can help one believe in themselves and try new paths, with the therapist lighting the way.

Many of us can use support in achieving true self-awareness, self-love, and the courage to be authentic; all are required for rich relationships. Through a safe, collaborative environment, I help clients to manage depression & anxiety, process relationship dynamics, heal old wounds, shift their narratives, manage life changes, and feel present. Hello and thank you for visiting my profile page. My passion is helping people find and reclaim their inner strengths and abilities. All too often, therapy focuses on the negatives - i.e. what is going wrong with life. I believe it is just as important to figure out what is going right, and that is why we will work on two things: 1.) Lessening you or your child's suffering, and 2.) Building up self-esteem and self-reliance in the process.

My blog is my calling card. Healing, positive change, and personal growth from the inside out is not for cowards. Read my blog to understand where I am coming from. Even if you believe you already know "everything" there is to understand about your specific circumstances, guess what? There is always another way to look at what you are struggling through. My job is to come up along side you and assist you in recognizing what you need to learn (and then do!)---as well as what you need to let go of (once and for all!). You will learn how to set yourself free from those chains that bind you. Live in peace, not in pieces anymore.

I am only accepting teletherapy clients at this time. Are you trying to change but keep finding yourself in the same situations that you have always been in? Sometimes it is hard to figure out why you do the things you do or how to make changes in your life. I want to help you grow into the best version of yourself - someone who feels fulfilled and at ease with all that life brings. I know it can be difficult to ask for help, and I believe that you are brave enough to contact me for support. This is your chance to feel understood and connected.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
