I am a fully-licensed Clinical Psychologist and a member of the American Psychological Association with over 20 years of experience in my field. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings providing a wide range of psychological services to individuals diverse in age, as well as, ethnicity and lifestyle. For the last 18 years, I have been working in my own private practice serving both children & adults with various mental health, behavioral and/or relationship challenges. I love what I do and consider it a privilege to be entrusted by my clients and their families with their mental health care.

As one of few Registered Play Therapists in the region, I also specialize in working with youth. As a parent, seeing your child experience stress, trauma, or conflict can be overwhelming and exhausting. I’m here to help you and your child develop communication skills, work through problems more efficiently, and express emotions in healthy ways.

I am Sondra Kern, a licensed professional counselor (LPC). I have experience working in many different settings with children, teens and adults including: intensive home-based therapy, outpatient therapy, teletherapy, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, and virtual intensive outpatient therapy for adolescents. My mission is to create a space where individuals can find the confidence to pursue the things they want and not be held back by fear and shame. I believe that everyone deserves access to compassionate, personalized mental health care, and I committed to help.

We counsel individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and abuse backgrounds, and we are trained in EMDR, a leading research-based treatment for trauma. We also specialize in marriage counseling and treat couples from a pro-marriage perspective, utilizing Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples identify their negative cycle of relating and restore their emotional connection. We have specialized training in the treatment of sexual addiction, with focus on both the addict and partner.

Partners in Change provides services in individual, couples, family, and group therapies to all ages. This team of therapists provide state-of-the-art treatment for a variety of concerns including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, anger management issues, substance abuse, trauma/PTSD, eating disorders, pain management, as well as marital and familial difficulties, and challenges experienced by emergency responders and public safety. Psychological assessments and psychiatric care for a variety of purposes are also available.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I serve individuals and couples.
