I am a seasoned, compassionate therapist, with over 25 years of counseling experience in assisting you to navigate life and heal inside & in your various relationships. EMDR is the most powerful tool for healing that I have acquired to help you find inner strength and peace. Along with EMDR, I have been trained in an adjunct treatment called LENS to reset the brain and optimize its functioning and ability to calmly focus. These adjunct treatments turn out to be a winning combination for many seeking inner peace, healthy self-esteem, & more wholeness. I am also skilled in helping you gain and maintain your addiction recovery.

The impacts of past pain can leave us feeling drained, overwhelmed and confused about our path forward. We can lack a sense of self-worth, after being hurt by the very people who were supposed to take care of us. I help clients reconnect to their inner power to reparent and restore lost parts of themselves. I guide clients in reawakening their naturally empowered, vibrant selves. I specialize in working with adult individuals and couples, seeking healing and connection both inside of themselves, and within their closest relationships. I also work with teenagers and their families.

I often use Attachment-based, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Self compassion in my practice.
Welcome! My specialty is working with women during pregnancy and post partum but I work with a variety of womens' issues. I find that many of my clients are trying so hard, juggling multiple roles and feeling guilty for not meeting their self expectations. Clients often come to therapy because they are exhausted and want to feel better for themselves and their families. My goal is to provide a safe space to slow down, reflect and look at the core beliefs driving behaviors. I tend to use self compassion with my clients to help create opportunities for meaningful interactions with themselves and others in their everyday activities.

I often use a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and Attachment-based interventions my practice.
Trauma leaves us vulnerable, sensitive, and struggling to trust. Often, you may feel as though if you want to belong, you can never be your true self. Your body may hold onto your experiences long after the events have passed. Trauma may have caused you to wear a mask - to keep your true self safe and hidden. But if you feel suffocated, lost and disconnected by your mask, confused about who you are - you are welcome here in every way. I specialize in trauma work and child-parent attachment to help individuals and families who are struggling with connection to lead more meaningful and fulfilling lives.

The marks pregnancy leaves on your body can feel like nothing compared to the marks it leaves on your soul – the permanent reminder of the shift in your identity. Welcome to motherhood - the most intense and beautiful journey you’ll ever undertake. Except sometimes it doesn’t feel beautiful or happy or any of that at all. “Why am I failing at this?” “Is the baby still breathing? What happens if she stops breathing?” “When will he stop needing me so much? Wait, does that make me a bad mom?” “Everyone says it will get better. When? What if it doesn’t?”

I approach therapy from at attachment-based lens that allows us to understand the patterns and themes that contribute to current struggles.
Perfectionist. People Pleaser. Avoids confrontation. Acts out of guilt. Worries about everything and nothing. Feels rejected, minimized, isolated. Overanalyzes and replays. Do any of these sound familiar? If so, I can help. We will explore the thoughts, fears, and behaviors that fuel your anxiety and perfectionism. You will learn practical ways to break free from these cycles. If you’re dreaming of feeling more connected to your life’s purpose, we’ll work on uncovering what truly matters to you. This process can lead to a sense of fulfillment, motivation, and a deeper understanding of what you want from life and how to get there.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
