You didn’t expect things to turn out this way. You’re heart pounds and your head gets fuzzy. Things are SO challenging lately. You’re feeling Overwhelmed and underappreciated, but.. I mean, everyone’s overwhelmed or feeling self-doubt and pressure, right? Doesn’t everyone feel like they don’t fit in or awkward? You’re really good at putting on that happy face for your friends & family, but inside you feel like nothing ever goes as planned, you’re stressed, unsatisfied and overwhelmed. Going to School or work causes anxiety, staying home causes anxiety and life is just plain Hard!

Hello, are you struggling with anger, anxiety, depression, past family hurt or trauma? Are you an adult trying to figure out what your future looks like? If you are I would love the chance to work with you to reach your fullest potential. Friedrich Nietzsche said "He who has a why to live can bear almost any how" and I believe that therapy at its best is driving towards the why in order to move out in to a fuller, richer, more meaningful life. If you are searching for you "why" today is the day to start discovering your deeper self and living a more fulfilling live.

Caught in a never ending stress volley between feeling anxious and afraid of what others might think of “the real you”. People say you are too in touch with your feelings, and at the same time you are afraid to confide in your parents, friends or colleagues. You desperately want to feel better but aren’t sure how to get there. Deep down you know you have high potential, but often feel like a disappointment to yourself and others. Your emotions feel like a burden and the last thing you want to do is share them with the people closest to you.

I specialize in working with and advocating for children and adults dealing with ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, Trauma, Depression, and disability-related issues.
I am a neurodivergent man that interprets the world through a neurodiversity-affirming lens. A neurodiversity-affirming viewpoint is one that believes that differences in the actions, behaviors, and communication needs between a neurodivergent person and a neurotypical person should not lead to the neurodivergent person being judged or pathologized.

I use this modality to help a variety of individuals, whether with trauma, ADHD, anxiety, depression, sleep troubles and even headaches, migraines and panic attacks.
Are you a young professional who feels stuck in life, held back by anxiety, or lack of motivation because you don’t know where you want to go? Are you an athlete and know you could perform better if you were just more calm and in control of your emotions? Or maybe you have a child who is struggling with emotional regulation, flexibility and anxiety. I work with each of these populations to help the young professional thrive, the athlete maintain mental and emotional stability while performing and the child who’s anxious to calm fear and hyper vigilance.

I specialize in treating complex trauma, PTSD, and ADHD; as well as the overlap between these experiences.
When you’re around others, you wear a mask and pretend everything is okay. Beneath the surface, you feel a churning of discomfort, disconnect, and detachment from the people and the world around you. Sometimes, you feel so internally overwhelmed that you go numb. When you’re alone, the psychic pain sets in and your whole being surges with anxiety. You feel lost and like you’re drowning. The persistent feelings of loneliness and isolation are soul crushing. Life has lost its spark, and you are alone in the dark. You can’t calm down because being calm means you’re too vulnerable. You can’t imagine a different future.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
