I approach therapy as a process of joining with my clients in dealing with difficult situations that they face. I will listen carefully and strive to provide an emotionally safe and nonjudgmental space to explore and work through your concerns. Experiencing a genuine connection in a relaxed atmosphere is an essential part of the therapy process. Whether you find yourself stuck in old patterns or life changes, I can provide support, discovery and insight that can help you move through painful issues to a life with more joy, meaning and peace.
“You cannot heal what you refuse to confront.” Is this a phrase that resonates with you? If so, then you are in the right place. Sometimes in life we get to a point where we realize that we are not living our truest life or our most actualized self. This can be anything from dealing with our daily turmoil and tribulations to confronting deep insecurities, distressing anxiety and depression, or past trauma. One of the key steps to overcoming these concerns is to turn inward and examine the self. In our counseling relationship, I promise to provide you with my most authentic self so that you can discover yours.
The most important choice you will ever make is not the one you made yesterday, but the one you make today. Tomorrow is in the future, today is now, choose today. The time is now. I empower people to achieve personal, professional, and spiritual growth in their lives. I am committed to helping others change their lives by exploring personal strengths.
Who are we kidding? Life is crazy and we all need someone in our corner! You are a unique person, and your challenges are too. I'm here to help you make sense of the craziness. I grew up frequently moving between my parents and family, and untimely ended up in the foster care system. With substance abuse in my family system, being a child and adult child of a dysfunctional family is something with which I am very familiar. I decided to pursue my education and help others instead of perpetuating the toxic family system.
I believe that counseling helps you to discover who you are, and who you want to become. As a counselor, I will assist you, your family, your children to explore through life challenges. I will help you find which self-care techniques work best for you as an individual. Together we will discover what your success looks like and how to find the path that feels comfortable for you to get there. I have worked with individuals and families in a variety of settings for more than 10 years using various treatment models that promote individual strengths. I have worked with children, adolescents, and families in different stages of life.
Transformation from depression, anxiety, personal problems, grief, life transitions and other issues can be challenging. It is important to have the right support and a strong, positive relationship with your counselor. I work to provide an environment that is both safe and non-judgmental. I will help you identify the things you want to be different in your life and develop skills and a plan for reaching your desired goals.
I believe that clients have within themselves an amazing ability to self-heal, and the role of the counselor is to find and tap into that ability. I also believe it is important to learn about each client's world and to develop a relationship where clients can feel understood and supported while learning about themselves. This creates the space for exploring the choices they have and any changes they may want to make toward more personal fulfillment. Therapy for children may involve consultation with parents who need support meeting their child's challenges. Play therapy is used with children.
Life is hard, and I’m here to help. As a therapist, I believe by making conscious choices we have the power to make purposeful change. If you're feeling anxious, sad, overwhelmed, or angry, I'm here for you. Sometimes we avoid our troubles, but they always seem to catch up one way or another. I want to walk alongside you through this season of life and guide you to the best version of yourself.
My goal with anyone interested in counseling is to "meet you where you are at ". Feeling comfortable with your counseling experience is very important to me. With therapy, it is essential to provide non-judgmental feedback with an understanding that everyone is unique regarding their therapeutic needs. I am here to offer you a multidisciplinary approach regarding your concerns, rather than a "one size fits all approach". We investigate together the concerns that brought you into counseling with the idea of working together to sort out the important details. Bringing yourself to the origin of your concerns is the goal.

Hi. My ideal client is one that is struggling but wants to improve. Neurodevelopmental disorders are my JAM! ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorders is where I direct much of my clinical experience. It's important to me that my clients (and their parents/families/teachers) understand the uniqueness of their disorder and how to turn a perceived deficit into a SUPERPOWER. All children are wonderful gifts, and I love helping children discover and embrace their best selves. A diagnosis does not define you, your child, or your family.
I have experience working with children and adults with PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, parenting, ADHD, child welfare issues, and suicidal ideation. I have specialty training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the practice and use of mindfulness strategies. I have seen and experienced the process of trauma recovery and can understand the various levels trauma can impact people's lives. Nurturing a healthy thought-life is a helpful tool towards building resilience and strength in trauma and various other mental health needs.
I enjoy working with clients through life transitions and helping people work toward a better and more comfortable place in their lives. I work with persons of any age with depression and anxiety, addressing the causes and finding treatments options that fit for each individual. I like helping families and children work together on childhood issues such as school problems, worry and anxiety and behavioral issues that are impacting the child's functioning.
I assist individuals and families in solving problems as they work toward recovery from addiction and other mental health conditions.
