In the context of mental health, an ideal client is someone who actively engages in the therapeutic process, is open to self-reflection, and is committed to making positive changes in their life. However, It's important to note that everyone is unique, and the ideal client can vary based on the specific therapeutic approach, the individual therapist's style, and the client's specific needs and goals. Our focus is on matching clients with the right therapist to maximize the effectiveness of treatment. It ensures that clients receive personalized and tailored support that aligns with their needs and preferences.

When people experience trauma, chronic life stressors, and /or destructive relationship patterns, life can quickly become overwhelming and unmanageable. My passion is to bring healing to people who have endured great hardship and restore wholeness and joy to their lives. I help adults, families, teens, and children navigate troubled times, & find healthy perceptions of themselves. I view all difficulties systemically and works to shift both individual and relational patterns to provide comprehensive, long-lasting results. I understand that one size does not fit all and can tailor the treatment plan to fit each client's unique needs.

I specialize in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and in solving painful, heartbreaking, devastating cases. Living through traumatic events may result in expectations of danger, betrayal, or potential harm within new or old relationships. Survivors may feel vulnerable and need clarification about what is safe. Therefore, trusting others, even those you previously trusted, may be challenging. It may feel frightening to get close to people for fear of being hurt in an unsafe world. When we conclude, you will see that building trust in old and new relationships is essential to healthy relationships after trauma.

Life is BUSY and it's hard to make YOU a priority. On top of that, life can be HARD. Maybe you're overwhelmed by a crisis, struggling with a major life change, or perhaps things just don't feel quite right. Let me help you take a step back to figure out where you'd like to be. We'll take time to build a relationship as we identify your goals. Change happens within the context of the therapeutic relationship, and only with trust and understanding can you take the risks to feel your best. I'll bring myself to the table - you’ll see my own humanity, some humor, and occasionally personal anecdotes - as we work toward your recovery.

Navigating life can be challenging, particularly when faced with family conflicts, work stress, health concerns, and personal roadblocks. It’s common to feel overwhelmed by anxiety, trauma, grief, depression, and stress, making it difficult to live a meaningful life. However, I believe that each person has an innate capacity for resilience. Through genuine support, understanding, validation, and empathy, resiliency can be discovered. Along this path, the most significant element you can bring to therapy is your authentic self, including your struggles and distinct lived experiences.

Times are very tough right now, but reaching out for help should not be. By asking for help you are already taking the first step to making your mental health a priority. As a therapist, I provide an inclusive and empathetic space for my clients to begin the healing journey. Opening up to a stranger is scary and I am here to make that first step less frightening. I do not approach therapy as a one-size fits all style. People are unique and their environment and experiences make them who they are.

Infidelity Therapists

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
