I enjoy working with individuals who are looking within themselves for the answers to the questions. The key to inner healing is partially about asking the right questions. I am best suited to working with individuals who struggle with anxiety; depression; childhood trauma and issues related to being raised in a home with alcoholic parents or family members. I have experience working with parents who have children with disabilities. It can be difficult to be parenting a child with a mental illness or autism. I am person-centered in my approach. I work collaboratively with individuals to help each reach his/her potential.

My ideal client is motivated to work in therapy and recognizes that therapy is as much about some pain as well as some joy. They have important issues in their lives and are searching for meaning, resolution, and growth because we all live in a world where these are not recognized, honored, or validated.

Whatever suffering or problem has evoked your search for a Jungian psychologist, you are an irreplaceable human being, from my point of view, and the problems and suffering is ultimately just stuff in the way of your own self-realization in life. The healing resources are latent within you, and our work is one of collaborating to evoke these self-healing and wholeness-making potentials into action. Each of us has the capacity to find and honor the Inner Healer, who is also the Dream Maker implicit in our hearts. Therapy becomes a heart-to-heart relationship between you and me.

I feel privileged when I am invited into your life to share in your pain and suffering in order to try to help you understand, heal and grow from the emotional wounds and trauma you have experienced. I believe our relationship is one between two equal individuals who will work hard to help heal and understand your wounds. We will be travelers on the journey of healing together and both be changed by our time together. A good therapy experience offers opportunities to learn important things about yourself, to acquire helpful life skills, and to integrate both the past and present to achieve a much better quality of life.

Clinically, I have worked in the Community Mental Health system and in a private practice prior to opening my own private practice. I am trained in 10+ evidenced-based practices like Cognitive Behavior therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy, used in treating PTSD, the Nurturing Parent Program (NPP), and Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT). My passion is to help others to live life as the best version of themselves, regardless of their age or presenting issues. I believe that each of us is just one person away from reaching that goal of a happy life, and if I can be that for you then it is a win for us both.

Whether dealing with the effects of trauma, a loss, struggling with anxiety or depression, or coping with a life transition, it can help to explore concerns in a safe and supportive environment. I believe that a therapist’s role is to be a listening ear, provide feedback, offer support, and provide resources as clients explore their concerns, identify solutions, and develop plans of action that best fit their chosen life journeys.

My style is laid back and informal, yet direct. I want our sessions to feel less clinical and more like a conversation. As a therapist with experience in helping those from every walk of life, my clients find relief knowing they can talk about what is really going on in their lives, free from judgement. I strive to create an approach that is both integrative and collaborative; helping you feel heard, accepted, and understood. Life and it's emotions can be a lot to carry, it's okay to put them down when you're ready. Letting go is possible and we will find a path forward, together.

My ideal client is working to understand mental health and well-being from a higher perspective. They are committed to themselves and their healing, and are seeking out-of-the-box work to help them come home to themselves. They have likely been told throughout their lives that they are not allowed to be themselves, and this has caused self-abandonment. They are also working to learn how to be able to set boundaries, trust themselves and their own discernment, and surrender into the flow and ease of life as they embody themselves more and more each day.

Our goal in life is to be loved. We are remembered for how we make people feel. My goal as a therapist is to help families, couples and individuals with communication, coping and relationship skills to create a life that is this as loving and connected as possible. I have specialized in substance abuse for years. This has given me insight into abandonment issues, the need to escape to create emotional distance in relationships and how these types of patterns play out in relationships. My strengths are helping people to reconnect to their purpose in life and finding meaning in the relationships in their lives and rebuilding trust.

Jungian Therapists

How does Jungian therapy work?

Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.

How long does Jungian therapy last?

Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.

Is Jungian therapy effective?

According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.

Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?

Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
