Using EMDR alongside relational and trauma-informed approaches, we address the formative experiences and internalized beliefs that fuel chronic stress.
Our work will help you move out of survival mode and into sustainable self-trust, emotional regulation, and authentic connection. Success should not cost you your sense of self. My work is attachment-informed and relational, meaning we explore how early experiences shape your patterns in love, boundaries, and self-concept.

I also have an endorsement for Child Welfare and Trauma, which is a lot of words to say I’m great at sorting out trauma.
You didn’t expect things to turn out this way. Your heart pounds, and your head gets fuzzy. Things are SO challenging lately. You’re feeling overwhelmed and underappreciated, but.. I mean, everyone’s overwhelmed or feeling self-doubt and pressure... right? Doesn’t everyone feel like they don’t fit in or awkward? You’re really good at putting on that happy face for your friends & family, but inside you feel like nothing ever goes as planned, you’re stressed, unsatisfied and overwhelmed. Going to School or work causes anxiety, staying home causes anxiety and life is just plain Hard!

I have worked extensively in substance abuse treatment at several different levels of care as well as trauma work.
Welcome! Bienvenidos! We all go through stages and changes in this journey of life. Some may be expected and some are surprises. This can include many different periods of crises, fairly bad times, temporary inconveniences, good times, and confusing times. Sometimes we think we made it through something, and we yo-yo back. It can be hard to process and understand all the complexities and emotions on this roller coaster. It helps to talk through this and process these experiences. Sometimes we just need support and validation.

Life can be tough — and anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or ADHD can make it feel like you’re fighting with your hands tied behind your back.
During three decades of experience working in hospitals, prisons, and private practice, I’ve guided clients through crisis and profound trauma. Today, I offer that same level of care virtually — so you can access therapy wherever you are, whether it’s from your bedroom or a beach chair.

I help teens and adults aged 8 and up, who are struggling with anxiety, intense emotions or trauma from their past.
Caught in the stressful in-between of feeling anxious and afraid of what others might think of “the real you” and wanting to be your genuine self? People say you are too in touch with your feelings, but at the same time you are afraid to confide in your parents, friends or colleagues? You desperately want to feel better but aren’t sure how to get there...feeling like you've tried everything? Deep down you know you have high potential, but often feel like a disappointment to yourself and others. Your emotions feel like a burden and the last thing you want to do is share them with the people you care most about.

I draw from a variety of evidenced based approaches in sessions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy - informed (DBT - Informed) and trauma focused CBT among others.
Welcome! I am so glad you’re here. Therapy can feel intimidating and overwhelming. Especially when beginning to explore options. Taking this first step alone is a courageous act of self care. I strive to create a safe space in sessions, allowing for exploration, healing and vulnerability. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects of therapy. We cannot expect change or growth without feeling safe in the space and relationship.

I have extensive training to help individuals who have experienced many forms of trauma, abuse, grief and loss.
Just like our thinking patterns, muscle memory & body patterns are important to address in treatment. You don't have to relearn to ride a bike after every winter. This same principle applies to stress/ trauma/anxiety/anger responses in the body & is important to address on your journey toward healing. Sensorimotor Processing helps facilitates this process.

I am passionate about helping adults heal from the pain of depression, anxiety, grief, and substance use—especially when these struggles are rooted in past trauma.
If you’re ready to explore new ways of coping and find more peace in your life, I’m ready to help. Let’s connect and begin this work together. The first step is simply getting to know each other. I want to hear your story and what brought you to therapy. This is your time to talk, and my time to listen.

I understand that starting the therapy process can be daunting. Finding the right person to meet with, knowing what you want to work on and finding a way to explain it to another person takes courage and determination. I hope to provide a safe and supportive environment for you to explore what is getting in your way and how to develop the tools for you to move forward.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
