Although I spend a lot of time conducting psychological assessments, I truly enjoy the time I get to spend as a therapist walking through life with my clients. At one point in time or another, all of us struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships, big-emotions and overall ineffectiveness in our life. In therapy, we not only spend time discussing ongoing issues and current difficulties, but we also focus on themes in our lives and the ways that our thinking patterns can inhibit our ability to create the unique life that we want to live.

We get it. Life can be tough. Sometimes we just need someone to talk to about all of it. There is a theme in our society that we are victims of our circumstances. While it is regrettable that many of life’s circumstances are beyond our control, at Green Branches we believe that everyone has the power to overcome these circumstances. It is our mission to help you find healing through recognizing your own empowerment.

I love coming alongside those who are struggling with anxiety, stress, parenting, depression, grief, relationship issues, self-esteem, and life transitions.
My therapeutic style is relational, nonjudgmental, inviting, playful, and peaceful. I believe that play is kids’ first language, so I utilize play and art therapies to facilitate change via what naturally connects with them. As a parent of adoptive and bio kids, I understand how exhausting parenting is and long to holistically support parents.

It's not easy taking the first step to get help. I recognize that it is often the work of weeks, months, or even years to reach out and request therapy services. Your story is unique, and it is my goal to help you find a sense of safety and security in my counseling office, and to find your way to wholeness and well-being. Your relationships, your environment, loss, successes and failures, these are all building blocks that affect how you think and feel and how you process life's challenges. It can feel overwhelming trying to make sense of it all. My goal is to help you gain that clarity.

My ideal client is someone who’s been carrying the weight of expectations, identity, and survival for far too long. They may come to counseling feeling unseen or disconnected, yet holding a deep desire to heal, to rest, and to live more authentically. Together, we create a space where every part of their story is honored, where pain and resilience can coexist, and where healing feels rooted in culture, community, and self-love.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
