Your thoughts about food and wanting to change your body feel constant. Binge eating by the end of the night may feel inevitable. You continually compare your body to others and to the times when you were thinner. You have high expectations for yourself but feel like it's never good enough or that you are failing. Family members may be expressing concern for your well being, or maybe they have no idea how much you are struggling. Issues with binge eating, body hate, bulimia, or anorexia can feel like they're taking over your life.

I’ve worked with people from all walks of life, but my passion lies in supporting teens and young adults with OCD who are navigating faith-based or other shame-inducing fears.
Overcoming OCD or related disorders is difficult, but you don't have to do it alone. I am trained in two evidence-based therapies for OCD, as well as therapies for tic disorders and body focused repetitive behaviors. I also have lived experience with these conditions, so I understand them from the inside out.

For adults with OCD or anxiety, that loop is often a cycle of intrusive thoughts and "what-if" scenarios.
For those stuck in worry or repetitive habits, we work together to change how you respond to intrusive thoughts. Instead of fighting them, you'll learn to let them be there without letting them run your life. For couples, I help you slow down your cycle so you can shift out of conflict or distance and back into a secure connection.

In my work with young children, I use child-centered play therapy to help kids process emotions and experiences in a developmentally appropriate way. I’m currently supervised by a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and enjoy incorporating pretend play, sand tray, and art into sessions to make therapy hands-on and engaging. With older children, teens, and families, I blend these expressive approaches with traditional talk therapy strategies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), to help clients develop insight, coping tools, and to feel confident handling stressors.

I have worked with individuals experiencing a broad range of concerns such as grief, relational traumas, mood disorders, life transitions, social anxiety, perfectionism, and OCD.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
