If you're someone others rely on a high-achieving professional, a caregiver, or both you may find yourself quietly running on empty. Words like overwhelmed, over functioning, and at capacity may feel all too familiar. I offer a safe, supportive space to breathe, reflect, and begin healing.

Although I spend a lot of time conducting psychological assessments, I truly enjoy the time I get to spend as a therapist walking through life with my clients. At one point in time or another, all of us struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships, big-emotions and overall ineffectiveness in our life. In therapy, we not only spend time discussing ongoing issues and current difficulties, but we also focus on themes in our lives and the ways that our thinking patterns can inhibit our ability to create the unique life that we want to live.

Ongoing stress, trauma, and loss can take a toll on how we feel—emotionally, physically, and in our relationships with others and ourselves. Feelings like anxiety, anger, depression, restlessness, burnout or simply “going through the motions” are often your nervous system’s way of sending a message. I work with adults who are ready to explore what may be keeping them stuck, to begin healing and reconnect with themselves, others and life. As self-awareness grows, you can make more informed choices, set healthy boundaries and live more authentically—feeling empowered to reach your goals and create the relationships and life you want.

I feel that change is an inevitable part of life regardless of whether we choose to accept or resist it. Life presents us with challenges and opportunities, and it's on us to figure out how to navigate them. Processing through the emotional effects of change can be uncomfortable. As individuals we are constantly evolving, and it's important to be mindful of the ways in which we experience life's changes. Safety and comfort are key in the therapeutic process, and I am mindful of this as I help you grow.

Hey girl — glad you're here. If you've been carrying the weight of anxiety, trauma, relationship stress, motherhood, people-pleasing, or a major life transition, you're in the right place. So many of the women I work with are exhausted from trying to hold everything together while quietly struggling underneath. I'm Chantel, and I help women better understand themselves, heal from difficult experiences, and build lives that feel more manageable, meaningful, and aligned with who they are.

I help clients build practical skills that support emotional regulation and greater steadiness in daily life. Together, we focus on developing self-awareness, learning cognitive and mindfulness-based tools, and understanding how your nervous system responds to stress. I believe that once we understand why we react the way we do, meaningful change becomes possible. Our work is structured and supportive, helping you turn insight into action and respond to challenges with greater clarity and confidence. I draw from evidence-based approaches and have specialized training in working with anxiety, dissociation, and PTSD.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
