I have specialized training in
trauma and PTSD
as well as spiritually integrated psychotherapy, but perhaps the most significant thing I can offer is my genuine, attentive presence in the midst of your sorrows, struggles, and joys.
If you're reading this, I suspect you've had more than your fair share of sorrow, fear, and hurt. Maybe you feel like something's missing or broken inside and you just want to get back to feeling like yourself. Or you're looking for a place to sort through the tangled mess of emotions and wounds and painful memories from your past - the ones that still seem to sting like they just happened yesterday. Maybe you're stuck in a self-destructive cycle of self-loathing, numbing, and shame. Or you're stressed out and overwhelmed - on the verge of giving up. Whatever it is that you're facing, please know - you don't have to face it alone.

For 12 years I have been helping individuals improve their overall sense of wellbeing, working through a range of subject areas such as depression, anxiety,
trauma
, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and substance use recovery.
Life is complicated. Working through current stressors, past experiences, and everything in between by yourself can be challenging. This is where therapy can help. Having someone to aid you in processing through stressors and to work on finding solutions can make all the difference. Through a combination of evidence-based practices, education, and processing, I provide people a time and a place to focus on themselves. In our sessions we will explore your concerns and better understand where your difficulty is coming from. Whether it is your first session or your hundredth, we will identify a plan tailored to your specific needs.

trauma
and helping clients let go of painful, negative thoughts of themselves.
Hi! I have been providing therapy in a wide array of settings for over ten years. I know coming to therapy is a difficult and often times scary process. It is important to me that I meet clients where they are at in the process and try my hardest to make the process feel as safe and comfortable as possible. For that reason, I offer both telehealth and face to face options.

My areas of training and expertise are with people who have experienced
trauma
and difficult circumstances.
You’re surrounded by people yet you are unsure whether you’re ok. Those around you seem to think so but you feel that at any moment the right trigger could burst you into tears. You feel shame, anger, frustration, and even hopelessness at times. These are all feelings we’ve felt at one time or another throughout our lives. They are all part of the human experience. However, many of us struggle to move on from these feelings and feel weighed down by our past experiences or our current circumstances. We can feel like we’ve lost control of our own lives.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
