I specialize in helping youth and adults build healthy self-esteem, navigate life transitions, and heal emotional wounds.
Therapy isn’t about something being “wrong” with you — it’s a mature choice to invest in your healing and growth. I understand therapy can feel taboo, especially in minority and faith-rooted communities where we were taught to “pray about it” and keep struggles private. But real healing begins with honesty, not pretending you’re okay.
I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can bring your fears, doubts, and the thoughts you’ve never said out loud. My holistic approach honors your emotional, spiritual, and relational needs, along with the everyday realities of life.

I approach people with an understanding that their storylines are unique and often difficult to share with others. Indeed, sometimes there are no words for our deepest pains. I aim to create a space that supports self-exploration and pathways for desired change, even in challenging circumstances. While my broad scope of clinical and teaching experiences provides me with creative ways of helping others, I value the collaborative nature of the therapeutic process. Together we seek understanding of the pain, fear, or unhappiness, making changes that will shift life toward security, joy, and fulfillment.

We usually seek therapy for many different reasons. Yet we all tend to want the same thing; a better understanding of our life experiences. Therapy can help you gain a clearer understanding of your interpersonal relationships and a clearer intrapersonal understanding of yourself. My therapeutic orientation is largely humanistic in nature. What does that mean? That means that I come to you as my authentic, genuine, and imperfect self. I work to see your world as you see it through your eyes. I keep a lookout for blind spots that you might not be aware of and explore these with you to see if they are of any consequence.

I work individually and in groups with men and boys supporting their explorations of masculine socialization, how it relates to their problems, and cultivating healthier masculinity to heal themselves, their interpersonal relationships, and patriarchal systems of gender-based oppression in their communities. I also work with clients of a variety of backgrounds and experiences looking for a therapist with an anti-oppressive lens, who will regard the client as the expert on their life and experiences, and see their struggles in the integrated context of the personal, cultural, and universal levels of their human experience.

I have years of experience working with teens, and adults in addition to certifications.
One of the things I love about being a therapist is that every treatment is unique and different. The ways we relate to one another are distinct. One way that treatment works with me is we will talk about how you relate with people. This gives us an idea about what kind of interpersonal dynamics might be getting in your way. I find it useful to talk openly about the relationship dynamics in the room. Our feelings can be intense and live within our relationships. Often, when we feel emotional pain or discomfort, we try desperately to get rid of it. Instead, I believe leaning in can be transformative.

Hello! I’m a counselor who specializes in working with neurodivergent individuals, including autistic people, ADHD folks, and those who experience the world in beautifully non-typical ways. I believe therapy should be a place where you don’t have to mask, explain yourself, or fit into someone else’s idea of “normal.” My work is rooted in respect, curiosity, and collaboration—I see you as the expert on your own experience.

Living with low self-esteem, anxiety, or depression can make even ordinary days feel like an uphill climb and quietly shape every relationship in your life. When a harsh inner critic or painful patterns keep showing up, it's easy to feel worn down and wonder if things will ever really change. But life really can feel lighter, more manageable, and full of genuine joy — and isn't it worth pursuing? Many people seek support to understand themselves more deeply and build more meaningful connections. Together, we can explore what's keeping you stuck, quiet the critical voice, and help you move toward a life that feels more like your own.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.
How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.
How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.
How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
