My ideal client is someone, whether an adult or youth, who is navigating emotional, social, relational, or life-transition challenges and is open to support, reflection, and personal growth. They may be dealing with issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, family conflict, unhealthy relationship patterns, peer or partner difficulties, academic or work stress, or struggles with identity and self-worth. My clients may also feel overwhelmed by expectations from their families, workplaces, relationships, or communities, and they need a space to breathe, process, and be understood.

It’s not always easy to name what’s wrong. You may feel overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or disconnected from yourself or others. Life’s challenges—such as anxiety, relationship stress, or a lingering sadness—can make it difficult to feel present or move forward. I work with individuals who want to understand themselves more deeply and create meaningful change in their lives. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, seeking clarity, or navigating a life transition, I offer a supportive space to explore your experiences and build resilience.

My ideal clients are adults, teens, and couples in Michigan who want trauma therapy that honors both psychology and faith. They may carry anxiety, grief, identity conflict, or the impact of addiction, pornography/sexual compulsivity, and betrayal trauma. They feel on edge, ashamed, disconnected, or unsure who they are anymore. They want a warm, structured space with EMDR-informed care, CSAT-trained recovery tools (Carnes 30-Task), CCPS-trained partner support (APSATS), and Gottman skills to rebuild safety, boundaries and connection. Their goal is steady healing, self-trust, and a life aligned with what they hold sacred at your pace.

If so, be assured that on the journey of life, we all face challenging situations at some point or another. Do you ever feel like your mind won’t stop racing—an endless loop of what ifs, worst-case scenarios, or second-guessing everything you do? You might find yourself constantly trying to control your thoughts or emotions, only to feel more anxious and exhausted. Maybe you ask yourself, “Why am I like this? How do I stop overthinking? I help teens and adults break free from anxiety, OCD, and overthinking so they can live more fully and confidently.

I specialize in working with children ages 3-12 with a variety of strengths and support needs, including neurodivergence (e.g., ASD, ADHD, giftedness, 2E), emotional dysregulation, behavioral difficulties, and developmental delays. Sometimes these difficulties are exacerbated by attachment or other early life trauma.

People often come to me for therapy when they’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure how to move forward. They may be navigating relationship stress, self-doubt, major transitions, or the strain of caring for others while feeling depleted. With my additional work experience in a high-volume, high-acuity Emergency Department—and as a mother, partner, and working professional—I understand how complex life can feel. I’m comfortable supporting both health care providers and anyone facing intense emotions. Many seek a steady, warm therapist who helps them gain clarity and create meaningful change.

I have a vast amount of experience in working with both youth, adults and families. I am passionate about working with mental health as I know it is sometimes difficult to find a safe space. I am dedicated and committed to raising awareness about the importance of mental health and reducing the stigma associated with seeking assistance. With teens, I provide a safe, supportive space where they can openly discuss topics that matter most such as school, friendships, relationships, self-esteem, hygiene, family, college, and life after high school.

Life can present you with all kinds of challenges and you don't need to face them alone. Aside from the treatment of mental illness, people attend therapy for many different reasons: to cope with a sudden loss or traumatic event, to learn how to better communicate in their relationships, to explore feelings following a divorce or another big life change, to manage work stress and more. Everyone’s story is different, and I am here to listen to yours. As a therapist, I strive to create a caring and accepting environment. I believe that everyone has the ability to improve their life, build resilience, and find happiness.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
