I am particularly attentive to the unique experiences of women from immigrant communities.
Have you always put the needs of others at the expense of neglecting your own well-being in the process? This pattern can leave you feeling drained and disconnected from your own identity and emotions. When you do try to prioritize yourself, you are met with an overwhelming sense of guilt. These tendiences arise from beliefs that others' needs are more important than your own. Family dynamics, societal influence, and cultural expectations further reinforce such narratives. Therapy will be a tool for you to connect with your authentic self and find a balance between fulfilling your needs and responsibilities, without any guilt.

(I most often work with individuals - especially teens and women - and couples.
REVIVE your LOVE for LIVING . . . When people feel stuck, there's usually a reason. Constant arguing or lack of communication in a love relationship can be a culprit. So can unwanted change. Perhaps anxiety or depression recently crept into your life. Whatever the cause of your suffering, it can sap your motivation and energy. It can make you feel stuck. Like you want to lay on the sofa forever. Worst of all, it can ruin cherished relationships. . . Rapidly and effectively helping people make a U-turn in these experiences is the focus of my professional life. To help you see and move toward bright potential in your future.

My sex therapy practice is primarily focused on female sexual health; however my clinical experience includes extensive work with individuals on the gender spectrum.
If you are struggling with sexual functioning, such as pelvic pain, painful intercourse, low desire, arousal, difficulty reaching orgasm, or erectile functioning, I may be able to help you. I have over 20 years of clinical experience treating these issues and have seen many successful cases resolve through sex therapy. I also treat anxiety and depression, and post-traumatic stress resulting from sexual trauma. Reaching out for help can feel daunting, and in fact many will avoid seeking support due to feeling shame or fear of judgement. My goal is to provide a safe and inclusive environment and guide you on your healing journey.

I specialize in working with high achieving, hardworking, women struggling with low mood, high stress, anxiety, and feelings of emptiness who are motivated to make changes to become the person they want to be and prioritize their own needs while not feeling guilty.
Envision yourself living the life you've always dreamed of and feeling peace. Do you find yourself wondering about why you can’t seem to be happy? You have it all: the house, the car, the job, the family, everything you imagined and more, but something is missing. Or something happens and it leads to you feeling incomplete, overwhelmed or unsatisfied? You feel unseen, underappreciated and trapped. Are you stressed, anxious, unmotivated, feeling "off," or just a bit down? Maybe you’re drinking more than you would like or numbing out with food or shopping. You aren’t alone. Many others have been in your shoes.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
