The concept of "getting your pink back" has started to take over how parents regain their identity after having children. The phrase was developed after learning that flamingos lose their vibrant pink colors after giving birth, and as their children become more independent, they regain their vibrant pink. This metaphor is a great way to start creating your map to identity in motherhood. Unfortunately, it's not as easy for humans as eating enough shrimp again, although meeting diet and other fundamental needs is a great place to start! I am passionate about helping Mom's find their pink in motherhood and grow with their family.

Life can be challenging and difficult to navigate, especially without support. During the therapeutic process, I look at how our environment, life experience, and current relationships have an impact on the decisions we make. I work with adults and young adults individually and in couples from all walks of life and belief systems who experience anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, personality disorders, adjustment issues, anger management, relationship issues, and more by using evidenced-based approaches and interventions/techniques.

Therapy can be both a growing and challenging experience, allowing us to go deeper within ourselves to really learn and understand what makes us unique. As a trauma informed therapist, I have worked with many of my clients regarding anxiety, depression and self-injury, ADHD, relationship struggles, and career and school related challenges. My goal is to support you in identifying and accomplishing your goals both inside and outside of the therapy room while creating a space where you can feel comfortable and be your authentic self.

Sometimes life can present us with difficulties, as well as opportunities, that we don't expect or aren't sure how to handle. Many people find ways of healing, growing, and even striving through the counseling process. Once you've decided to seek out psychotherapy, finding the therapist who is the right fit for you can feel overwhelming. The psychologists, professional counselors and social workers at River City Psychological Services (RCPS) strive to create a safe environment where people can grow and heal.

Hi there! I specialize in working with folks who are experiencing behaviors and emotions that are difficult to understand. Together, we can explore what those thoughts and feelings are, how best to understand them, learn about treatment approaches, and set goals. I enjoy helping to build a support network that has your best interest at heart, and allows you to share your experience with those supports in a way that gives you choice and dignity. LGBTQAI+ affirming and compassionate care is the standard here, as is support around accessing reproductive healthcare.

With 8 years of experience in the mental health profession, I specialize in behavior change, both individually and within a relationship. My approach combines both Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). Both MI and CBT are highly effective in promoting positive change. MI focuses on resolving ambivalence and increasing intrinsic motivation for change, while CBT works to restructure negative thoughts and behaviors.

I believe that everyone deserves to feel deeply loved, understood, and accepted—starting with ourselves. I am a warm and compassionate therapist who strives to create a gentle, safe space where children, adolescents, and adults can begin to explore their stories, heal from past wounds, and grow into their fullest selves. With a trauma-informed approach, I walk alongside those who have experienced sexual, emotional, or physical abuse, neglect, and other difficult life experiences. I know how heavy these burdens can be, and I am honored to support my clients with kindness, patience, and respect at whatever pace feels right for them.

And who knows but that you have come to your position for such a time as this. -Esther 4:14 We are created to be in community and we were created at this time and in this place for a reason. While there are times when relationships need to end, many times we are just caught up in bad patterns that we have the power to change. When we change our communication patterns, learn to create and hold to boundaries, and learn to regulate our nervous systems we are more available to one another.
