I am a psychologist working with everyday people with everyday struggles. My philosophy is guided by my unwavering belief in people's ability to achieve their greatest potential & become their true authentic self. I coach people who are feeling down, overwhelmed, anxious, conflicted, coping with change and transitions, making decisions, or struggling with marital or relationship challenges. While many people can manage their problems on their own, the therapeutic process often enables them to reach their goals and decrease symptoms and stress more quickly.

I enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds. Each individual brings new and different elements to culturally reoccuring problems. Our work together usually enriches us both. As a CBT therapist, I believe the value of changing thoughts, beliefs and attitudes. These strategies are especially effective for anxiety, depression, addictions, anger and interpersonal interactions. I am also an advocate for personal choice and self care. So while changing thoughts and attitudes is helpful, the client decides which thoughts and attitudes they want to change. Finally, I supplement CBT with practical strategies for relationships, healthy lifestyles, relaxation, problem solving and general coping.

In my practice I work with individuals that struggle with relationships, addiction, mental health diagnoses, unwanted life changes, and trauma. My goal as your therapist is to create a trusting, open, compassionate, nonjudgmental and collaborative environment so that you feel safe sharing your struggles, needs and hopes with me. It takes a lot of courage to ask for help. In our work together you will not be defined by labels or your struggles in life but by who you are as a person.

You are not alone or defective. Persistent feelings of worthlessness, shame, fear, isolation, anger, self-consciousness, guilt, sadness, resentment, loss, despair, rage, and exhaustion coupled with thoughts that you are unlovable and that nothing good will ever happen to you or last, are often the effects of repeated, painful, humiliating, and frightening life experiences. While you cannot change the past, avoidance of and denial about it's very tangible and lingering detrimental impact, won't stop the pain. Recovering from those experiences and changing the way you think and behave are skills that can be learned.

Feeling like your motherhood experience is way more hot mess than hashtag blessed? Wrestling with guilt because you’re too overwhelmed to “enjoy every moment” (which is garbage advice, by the way)? Up late at night wondering if your parenting is setting up a steady income stream for your kid’s future therapist? If you’re looking for a break from the worry, longing to enjoy being a mom more, and wanting to feel confident and relaxed: you’re in the right place, friend. I'm Amanda, and I specialize in helping moms who are struggling with anxiety stop being at the mercy of their thoughts.

Regardless of whether you are experiencing extreme distress in your daily life, or just need to make some more space for self-discovery, counseling does not need to be an intimidating experience. We have a conversation, we ask questions, and we work together to gain insight. From there we can identify some goals, try new strategies, seek healing, work towards solutions, and improve your mental health - whatever that looks like for you!

Taking the step to seek therapy is an act of courage, and my goal is to make that step feel a little easier. Hi, I’m Mia. I work with young people dealing with everything from big emotions and family stress to relationships and life changes. Therapy isn’t just about tackling tough times—it’s also about recognizing and strengthening the good things you already have going on.

I believe all people have profound inherent worth, and that self-acceptance and compassion are core components of living well. Anxiety, depression, trauma, and other emotional difficulties can cloud our ability to see ourselves as whole, beautiful, functioning people, and I work warmly, respectfully, and joyfully to help my clients get movement in these areas. I feel I do my best work with clients who are experiencing all types of anxiety, anger management issues, social or other phobia, grief, and trauma. It is one of my great joys to support people as they build meaningful, authentic, and effective lives.

Most of us know that even the healthiest of us need at some point in our lives an outside perspective or guidance into our inner selves to resolve many issues that we have not been able to do on our own. Therapy can take many forms from "personal growth work " (i.e. becoming a better person or reaching personal goals not yet achieved) or in dealing with life crises, wrong choices in the past effecting today, life transitions or mood problems such as depression, grief, anxiety etc. am also helping people deal with covid and all of it's implications.

At some time or another in life, everyone feels stuck, unable to overcome some problem despite his or her best efforts. Talking therapy can be invaluable in helping one gain new perspectives on oneself . By helping clients see themselves in new, broader, more realistic and more accepting ways, I help them gain the emotional and psychological energy and understanding to make needed changes. I believe I am most helpful to people by listening carefully to what they are saying and by helping them put into words what seems hard to say or even to understand right now.
