You’re carrying more than anyone sees - whether it’s the emotional weight of trying to be a “good” parent, the quiet pain of postpartum, or the mental load that never seems to let up.
Clients come to me looking for a therapist who is deeply present, easy to talk to, and totally real. I bring warmth, practical support, and a little lighthearted messiness into the room so you can show up exactly as you are - no performance, no pressure. We’ll work together to create more balance & realistic strategies that support both you & your family.

Life’s complexities—especially during pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood—can feel overwhelming.
My passion lies in supporting women and parents, especially Black mothers, as they navigate various life experiences and stressors, including the emotional, mental, and relational shifts that come with pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting. I believe there is no single guidebook to parenting, and the journey is not meant to be traveled alone.

Life transitions—whether it’s family planning, pregnancy, parenthood, or loss—can leave us questioning who we are and how we fit into the world.
My therapeutic approach draws from psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I use psychodynamic work to help uncover patterns shaped by past experiences, CBT to support practical, thought-based change, and DBT to build mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal skills.

” My speciality focuses on the perinatal period and in the early years of parenting.
In addition to parents, I work with children, teens, and adults dealing with anxiety, depression and trauma. The approach is the same: exploring the past to better understand how it has manifested today. We then create a plan to cope and be more present within the body, mind, and spirit.

I am counselor trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, perinatal mental health, infant mental health, and grief & loss.
We were never meant to do life alone... and when we find ourselves in a place of feeling alone, it can be incredibly painful. My practice is informed by the belief that the greatest healing happens in the context of relationships- and that in order to experience true comfort and healing, we have to compassionately connect with the very things that are bringing us discomfort. When engaging in our therapy space, we (both me and those I serve) show up as our imperfect and vulnerable selves- knowing that we are worthy of connection, worthy of belonging, and worthy of the courageous work that we engage in together.

I have a special interest in supporting those feeling overwhelmed as new parents and those grieving pregnancy and infant loss.
I want to be there for you in the places that so often feel isolating. It's important to me that you have a place in the therapy relationship where you don't have to be 'fine.' My hope for our work together is that your distressing and overwhelming experiences can be connected to your life without fully overwhelming the rest of your life.

I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have training in trauma-informed care, expressive arts, and perinatal mental health.
Are you a woman feeling isolated in your grief after a loss? It’s the morning after and the funeral is over, others have moved on, but the pain that was suppressed in the busyness is loud and inconsolable hurt echoes through your soul. Or perhaps you’re overwhelmed by the emotional challenges of uterine fibroids, or navigating anxiety and trauma that feel heavy to carry alone. Maybe you’re a teen struggling with feelings of rejection and low self-esteem longing for a space where you are truly seen and understood. You want compassionate support that respects your unique experiences and cultural background.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists

What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?

The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?

Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?

A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?

In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
