Hello, I specialize in grief counseling- processing it, holding it and understanding your unique experience and how you can grow/live with it.
I do take some insurances and there may be a chance to do a "super bill" to submit to other insurances. I am able to physically meet clients wherever they feel best- including online. I do have a home office- including a shaded back patio but have met clients in park, their home, the library, coffee shop or again- wherever you feel best.

I specifically work with women who have experienced domestic violence, sexual abuse/assault, natural disasters, loss of any kind and/or who have been managing any health challenges.
I help clients by allowing them a safe space to explore their emotions and feelings, by being nonjudgmental and providing feedback that is gentle, honest and engaging. I believe in the resiliency of every human being and that ultimately happiness and integration of traumatic experiences is a birth-right. I specialize in surviving trauma, specifically.

Wellness = the state of being in good health, especially as an actively pursued goal. My ideal client is one that energizes my passion for integrative health. Many of those I have worked with have complex issues that are open to exploring the many layers of treatment that include assessing the mind, body and soul. I firmly believe that you can not get to your best personal level of healthy living without practicing an intersection of practices. Using a body-based and holistic approach, I see myself as a companion on the journey with individuals to building stronger self-awareness, personal growth and wellness.

Hola. Are you finding yourself repeating the same patterns, even though you know better and want real change? You may have tried therapy before and are now looking for something more structured, like EMDR. Friends’ advice has helped to a point, but you’re wanting deeper understanding and lasting relief. Trauma changes people. So does family, culture, relationships and honestly, the constant pressure of just existing right now. You may be longing for a more regulated nervous system, greater confidence in navigating life’s challenges, and the ability to show up as your best self.

I have spent many years helping individuals like yourself with learning how to manage feelings with Grief and Loss, Self-esteem, Anxiety, Depression, Christian counseling, Stress, End-of-Life concerns, , Trauma, Anger Management, and Coping with Life Changes
Hello and Welcome! My name is Sherri Round, I am a licensed Professional Counselor. It takes a lot of courage to ask for help and seek therapy, however, once you do, it can be the beginning of your healing process. Many years ago, I was involved in a terrible automobile accident and sustained a spinal cord injury, as a result, I was diagnosed with hemiplegia (Left side paralysis). I was devastated, sad, and felt alone. I respect everyone's journey, and I believe that compassion, respect, and genuineness are components for building a healthy therapeutic relationship.

My training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma Therapy, Grief and Loss, EMDR, and Biblical Counseling allows me to address both emotional pain and practical change.
You want to be loved again? You want to have conversations without arguing all of the time? Right now, it feels like everything is tense. Nothing gets resolved. You’re both careful with every word, walking on eggshells, wondering where the laughter, connection, and romance went. Somewhere along the way, you stopped feeling like partners and started feeling like roommates. And it’s exhausting.

If you’ve been carrying anxiety, trauma, or emotional exhaustion for longer than you want to admit, you’re not alone. Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or unsure how to move forward — even though they’ve tried to ‘push through’ on their own. Together, we work toward relief — calmer days, clearer thinking, steadier emotions, and a sense of control returning to your life. My clients often tell me they finally feel understood, supported, and able to breathe again.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
