You're exhausted from trying to hold it together. No matter how hard you try, you constantly feel stuck. Your body won't let go of trauma and stress. You feel like you are always on alert. It feels like there's always a threat. You feel as though something you wrong with you. You worry that you are broken. It seems like you have lost your way, but you know there is more to you than your past. You are ready to heal and no longer want to be stuck in the past. You're not ready to give up. You know this is the time for change but you aren't sure where to turn or what to do. You are ready to release the trauma trapped inside.

Hello and welcome! You are so courageous for considering the next step in your healing journey. My name is Jennifer (Jen) Towns (she/her). I invite you to a safe space where you can learn to trust, speak your truth, and work towards emotional growth and change. Many of us experience problems in living from time to time, as we manage our intimate relationships, careers, children, financial burdens etc…. Often times, these problems can lead to feeling poorly about oneself or even to feelings of hopelessness or helplessness. Sometimes, these problems reach a magnitude where our level of distress or ability to function is affected. At these times, it can be very helpful to talk to a professional who can provide insight, support and perspective on these difficult issues. Although your issues may seem unmanageable to you now, with the right help, these problems can be overcome.

You're a helping or creative professional who needs help. You're pretty high functioning and your symptoms aren’t constant but they can be intense. You're scared that you're just fooling everyone since they have no idea how hard it's been for you. This has been going on for so long, it’s hard to even remember a time before it. You know one thing for sure though: you want to feel better. You’re ready to let go of the anxiety. You’re ready to have better ways to cope and react to your triggers. But most of all, you’re ready to actually move on and live a happy life.

At times, we may find ourselves stuck in patterns that no longer serve us or perhaps they never did. Other times, life presents us with difficulties and challenges. These situations may appear as roadblocks but may very well be an opportunity for growth. My role as a counselor is to help you find your inner strength to move past these blocks and obstacles in your life.

Choose the therapist, not the therapy. Quality mental health care is a real, human exchange; an opportunity to explore, strengthen, and change aspects of who you are. When psychotherapy is effective, the therapist and patient are creating openings, not closures. This is what heals.

I'm currently accepting new clients for virtual or in-person care. I provide individual therapy for women and gender non-binary clients. My clients struggle with body image, relationship problems, or oftentimes a general sense of not feeling "good enough." Sometimes this shows up as anxiety in a romantic partnership, at work, or in the way they view their bodies.

Hi y'all, I'm Malanna, rhymes with Madonna! I’m quite the unorthodox therapist, so I’ve been told, because I approach mental health with the same sincerity that we take with our physical health. I have a lot of respect and appreciation for the people who sit in front of me and trust me with their vulnerability. I'm big on cooperation; pairing your self-insights with my expertise. I'll do my best to help you highlight all of your hidden strengths, buried wins, and natural gifts that life can make us lose sight of. I currently offer telehealth services but I can guarantee it’ll be just as good as seeing me in person!

I probably don’t need to tell you we’re living in a racist, sexist, heteronormative, capitalist dystopian nightmare in a slow and painful collapse. It’s hard to cope with that knowledge while dealing with day-to-day nonsense, on top of reliving past trauma on a regular basis. It’s a lot and it’s heavy and it sucks. Some people turn to substances and other vices to cope.
