As women, we fill many roles—mother, wife, daughter, friend, educator, professional, business owner, community builder, etc. We pour into everyone else, often leaving ourselves last on the list. I see you, and I understand that weight. If you’ve been feeling anxious, stretched thin, or unsure where “you” fit in the mix of everything you do for others, you’re not alone. Maybe you struggle to say “no,” or feel guilty when you try to rest or set a boundary. Maybe you’ve been strong for everyone for so long, you’ve forgotten what it feels like to just be.

I help people discover their strengths and focus on what's possible. We have over 70,000 thoughts a day - is it any wonder we struggle to be happy and productive? I also specialize in trauma and help people move past difficult times in their lives.

You’ve been trying to hold everything together, even when it feels like you’re quietly falling apart inside. You want peace, balance, and practical tools to manage life’s chaos. You’re tired of just surviving and want to heal, set boundaries, and feel like yourself again. You’re looking for a space that feels safe, real, and faith-affirming, where growth happens through grace, not pressure.

Life has changed in big ways, and it’s not feeling how you hoped it would. You thought this season would bring happiness, but instead you feel anxious, overwhelmed, and unsure how to keep up. You know the doomscrolling and overthinking aren’t helping, but everything feels like too much. You’re terrified of failing but also have no idea where to start. You just need someone to point you in the right direction. That’s where I come in.

As a therapist I provide therapy to a wide range of clients, teens, adults, who may be transitioning from different stages of life. One of my goals is to help remove the stigma that many of us face regarding seeking counseling. Our mental health is important to our physical health in more ways than we give it credit. Sometimes there is a need to seek out someone who can help strengthen your mental longevity and mental health.

You want to feel good about yourself but you don’t. You feel different, like other people don’t understand you, and you just want to be normal. You have so much shame about the things you’ve done or been through that it seems impossible that you’d ever love yourself. On top of that, you’re constantly anxious or depressed about something (or nothing!) and your symptoms leave you feeling like something is seriously wrong with you. All you want is to feel better about yourself and to feel happier and more at peace with your life. You want to be able to be your true self in your relationships and to feel loved and accepted for it.

Potential clients will work best with me if they are ready to better themselves and explore those conscious or unconscious thoughts and feelings that may be affecting their everyday life. The client who is willingly to cater to their mental health and who is open to receiving the help, will gain the most out of our sessions.

You're a therapist or creative professional who needs therapy. You're pretty high functioning and your symptoms aren’t constant but they can be intense. You're scared that you're just fooling everyone since they have no idea how hard it's been for you. This has been going on for so long, it’s hard to even remember a time before it. You know one thing for sure though: you want to feel better. You’re ready to let go of the anxiety. You’re ready to have better ways to cope and react to your triggers. But most of all, you’re ready to actually move on and live a happy life.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
