You could be experiencing sadness, depression or anxiety or trouble fulfilling daily responsibilities.
Together we will identify what you need. We can set goals and put a plan in place to reach them. We will explore what you are experiencing emotionally, physically, spiritually and cognitively. You are so much more than your circumstances or what you are feeling at any given moment. I have the training, life experience and 28 years within the public school

As an experienced, trauma and anxiety therapist, I believe that no matter where you begin we have a chance to make a better ending for you.
You're a professional who feels like a fraud and is carrying around so much fear, shame, and hurt. Outwardly, you seem like you have it figured out but deep down you're struggling to get through the day. You're fed up with things feeling so hard and out of control all the time. You probably can’t even remember the last time everything didn’t feel so difficult. But one thing is for sure, you’re ready for relief. You’re ready to feel more confident, more energized, and to have some inner peace. But most of all you’re ready to feel like you have some control over your life again.

I am particularly passionate about serving youth and young adults who are impacted by anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, and low self-esteem.
Seeking a therapist is the first step to a rewarding journey that may have challenges along the way. Yes, you read correctly! Therapy is not a magic trick, it takes hard work, dedication, and an open mind to benefit from therapy. But in the end, you will never regret advocating for yourself and those that you love.

Anxiety’s high, you're temper is on the rise and even getting out of bed feels impossible.
You’re not broken! you’re in survival mode. That mode once protected you, but it’s not where you’re meant to stay. Therapy is a space where we untangle the mess together. A space to say the things you’ve buried, make sense of what’s felt overwhelming, feel without drowning, set boundaries without guilt, and finally reconnect with who you truly are.

Most of all, you’re ready to get unstuck, decide what to do, and feel happier with yourself and your life.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
