As a therapist, one of my favorite questions is, “How did you make it through that?” Therapy with me will dive deep into your story, your strengths, and support to heal and grow. I got my start working with families in 2015 volunteering with art therapy groups of children displaced by war and domestic violence; I've worked in schools, hospitals, and homeless shelters; and have been a practicing therapist since 2021. I work best with women with complex trauma, ADHD and/or autism—who have been told they are too much, not enough, who have had to grow up too fast, feel they don't know themselves, and who struggle to feel heard.

Strength is recognizing that you can't do it alone. My main goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, open, and nonjudgmental space that focuses on each individual's life experiences while maintaining the personal beliefs/values of the client to encourage growth and strength. I value the connections my clients create with me as their therapist; creating a connection with your therapist is important to the therapeutic process and will be the driving force of each therapy session. I work with clients collaboratively to explore their thoughts, feelings, hopes, and obstacles to create goals reflecting their desires for therapy.

I worked in the field of Veterinary Medicine for over ten years where I gained a deep understanding and passion for the human-animal bond, inspiring me to pursue a career in Social Work with a focus on Animal-Assisted Therapy. I care immensely and advocate for the well-being and empowerment of my clients to live the life they want to live. I am currently training my dog Limbo to be a certified therapy dog. He is what I lovingly refer to as a "Dognitive Behavioral Therapist".

Where is the village?! I ask myself this, just as you do. As parents we are constantly trying to integrate self care into the obligatory tasks we feel pressured to do daily. Grief, and particularly not having support from your own parent(s) as you navigate "adulting" and/or parenting further complicates things and adds to the weight of our stress. I enjoy working with adults of all ages and have particular interests in maternal mental health, anxiety, grief, and women's issues. I have a particular passion in working with women who have lost their own mothers and those experiencing grief related to parent loss.

Counseling can be daunting for some, especially when your child is involved. What’s my first step? How do I choose the right counselor for myself, my child, or my family? I graduated from Walden University with a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I incorporate CBT, play therapy interventions, expressive arts, and integrative therapeutic orientations. I don't hav an ideal client because every single client is different. What works for one client won't work for every client. I am able to work closely with you and your child to make sure everyone feels involved and heard in the therapeutic relationship.
