I have a tremendous amount of respect for those who have the wisdom and courage to seek support through therapy and I work hard to help them learn to listen to themselves. I believe that my work as a therapist is to provide an experience of support, challenge, trust, and experiential knowledge that individuals may take forward in the world. I view the individuals who enter therapy from a multi-systemic lens, their strengths and challenges are influenced by their interaction with the world around them.

Roses grow as much from rain as they do from sunlight. There is an incredible potential within each one of us that allows us to reflect on all of our sources of growth to reach the healthiest version of ourselves. Taking that big step to nurture yourself through therapy is extraordinarily commendable. That’s not to say there won’t be thorns, but it's my privilege to navigate them alongside you in a space that is safe and comfortable. I believe in the power of perception and reflection. I view those who enter the therapy space through the lens of their strengths and challenges within the systems that surround and affect them.

I have been a licensed clinical social worker for 24 years. We are living in unprecedented times marked by increasing stress and tension, and therapy has become more important than ever. Many people who come to see me find themselves overwhelmed and burnt out by the turmoil and demands of our current world. For some, they simply need a safe place to fully be themselves—to laugh, to cry, and to know they are accepted just as they are. For others, we will take a closer look at the various aspects of their lives and make small adjustments that can lead to meaningful change and lasting peace.

You might feel caught between worlds—tired of explaining yourself, of fragmenting who you are to make others comfortable. I work with young adults, children of immigrants, and people navigating queer/religious identity. My clients often feel the weight of being a "model minority", and the loneliness of living between cultures in a place that often erases and devalues BIPOC identity. They might deal with anxiety, depression, PTSD, or relationship/familial/community challenges rooted in these complex intersections. I offer a space built on shared understanding, where no part of your identity feels like a contradiction.

You’re carrying more than anyone sees - whether it’s the emotional weight of trying to be a “good” parent, the quiet pain of postpartum, or the mental load that never seems to let up. Maybe you’re managing ADHD while parenting, overwhelmed by expectations, and exhausted from holding it all together. You might also be exploring your sexuality, CNM, working through relationship dynamics, or craving connection in a way that feels real and respectful of who you are. I’m here to help you manage the chaos of parenting, release the pressure to do it all perfectly, and find steadiness, self-kindness, and connection along the way.

Do you feel like sometimes you're just not in the driver's seat of your own life? Maybe life has dealt you some hard blows lately, or thrown in some relationship twists and turns you didn't see coming. Perhaps it's some old trauma coming back demanding to be recognized, or a dance with depression and/or anxiety.

Times are very tough right now, but reaching out for help should not be. By asking for help you are already taking the first step to making your mental health a priority. As a therapist, I provide an inclusive and empathetic space for my clients to begin the healing journey. Opening up to a stranger is scary and I am here to make that first step less frightening. I do not approach therapy as a one-size fits all style. People are unique and their environment and experiences make them who they are. Together we can work together on taking the next step on bettering your mental health journey.

You’ve been hurting a lot - maybe for years. Whether it’s the lingering effects of trauma, the strain of chronic pain or illness, or the emotional toll of trying to hold everything together, you’re tired of just surviving. You may feel disconnected from yourself, on edge without knowing why, or like your body is holding something your mind can’t fully explain. Your mind can’t slow down, or you’re carrying tension that never fully goes away. Maybe you’re struggling with relationship problems, recovering from trauma, or feeling stuck in patterns of anxiety, shame, frustration, or overwhelm that you can’t just “think your way out of.”

Currently accepting new clients as of 2/26/26! Hi, I'm Katie! I am so glad you’re here. From experience, I know reaching out for help can be hard. That may seem cliche, but one of my favorite things to do is see people grow and change the course of their life. Whether you are working through a life change, anxiety, depression, self esteem, or gender identify issues, I am here for you. If you are seeking a therapist whom you can be real with, open up to, connect to, be heard by (and even called out by!), and laugh with at times - I'm your person! If you feel ready to tackle the issues that are holding you back, please reach out!

Life is all about decisions from the moment we wake up to the minute we go to bed. Some decisions we make with ease because the answer just makes sense. Others come with a level of difficulty that we may or may not be prepared for. Some answers come easy, while others take some thought. As we move through life, and begin making decisions about work, relationships, and family we sometimes forget about ourselves – wanting to be everything for everybody and leaving very little for ourselves. If you’ve ever found yourself feeling exhausted from helping others (burnout or compassion fatigue), you’re in the right place to re-center.

Sex-Positive, Kink Allied Therapists
Why might an individual want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
A sex-positive or kinky individual may want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist because the client may feel safer and more supported discussing their experiences and challenges. A therapist who identifies as kink-friendly will have experience with clients having diverse sexual preferences and will likely be nonjudgmental and supportive about issues brought to the table. It is important to note that sex-positive, kink-allied individuals may find equal success with therapists who do not have such specialized knowledge and background. The most important factor in the success of therapy is for the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond.

Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in sex-positive, kink-allied treatment?
Generally, no. There are limited training programs and unofficial accreditations that therapists can pursue, but a therapist’s expertise will ultimately come from their previous experience with similar clients, their engagement with organizations that promote sex positivity or kink-allied lifestyles, and the importance they place on safety and cultural sensitivity.

How can individuals recognize a good sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
An experienced therapist is able to help clients explore their sexual identity and expression and relieve any discomfort or stigma attached to discussing such matters and the client’s overall challenges. A therapist who is sex-positive and kink-allied is able to create an environment that honors a client’s experience and sexual preferences. To recognize a good therapist, clients can simply ask directly about topics and issues important to them and gauge their comfort level and connection with a clinician based on the responses.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist with a focus on sex positivity and alternative sexual lifestyles?
Some individuals may feel most comfortable knowing that the clinician they’re working with has a commitment to creating an atmosphere of sex positivity and has experience with relationship diversity and alternative relationship structures. Working with a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist may help clients respect their own challenges and improve identity-affirming treatment.
