When life feels overwhelming, we often try to “think” our way through it. But the truth is—healing isn’t just a mental process. Our bodies carry the stories of our experiences: the racing heart during anxiety, the tight chest when we’re holding back tears, or the tension in our shoulders after a stressful day. Let's work together to invite the body into the conversation. If you are feeling stuck, disconnected I can offer a way to reconnect with yourself-not just in your thoughts but in your whole being. I provide a supportive, nonjudgemental space where healing and growth can begin.

You are an amazing human being. You are worthy of love, joy, and peace. Being aware of your worthiness can connect you to this wisdom. However, there may have been experiences, thoughts or beliefs that have made you forget your worthiness and preventing you from living your best life. I can help you explore how focus your awareness to the present and away from the past which may lead to depression and away from worries of tomorrow (anxiety).

I enjoy working with women during different life transitions, from pre-teen girls to women aging and growing into themselves during menopause. Often my clients are parents navigating an autism diagnosis of their child, youth struggling with executive functioning or school stress, late-diagnosed autistic women, or helping professionals (such as teachers, nurses)facing burnout, and adoptive families adjusting to complex dynamics. They often feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or exhausted from masking and over-functioning. They want practical tools, clarity, confidence, stronger relationships, relief, and to know they are not broken.

I am passionate about supporting individuals and families through the emotional transitions of fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. This stage of life can be incredibly meaningful, but it can also feel overwhelming, isolating, and very different from what many people expected. I also support individuals navigating termination for medical reasons (TMFR) and abortion, offering a space that is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and grounded in respect for each person’s unique experience. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood and supported as you move through whatever this season holds.

My story has inspired in me a passion for coming alongside others throughout life's journey. As a lover of storytelling, I truly enjoy getting to know people through listening to them share their experiences and learning what they think and feel about the things that are important to them. I believe that counseling can be a place where sharing stories leads to greater connection, clarity, and healing. My desire is for clients to develop an understanding of their own unique story as well as hope and skills for the future as their story continues to unfold.

I recognized after having a daughter of my own that there is an enormous gap in care as families embark on the journey of parenthood. Moms are expected to go from several appointments per month – to being handed a newborn and told “good luck.” For most, follow-up care comes in the form of a survey ranking their feelings of anxiety and depression for the first few appointments, but there is no formal support or action taken to investigate or offer further help. Women, parents, and families deserve more. The experiences that go into the journey of parenthood are so much deeper and more complex than what is covered in a survey.

I believe healing happens through connection, safety, and the courage to explore your inner world. My practice is grounded in a relational, eclectic and radical approach. With this, and my training in EMDR, I specialize in supporting women who’ve experienced trauma, including childhood trauma and relational wounds. I approach my work with a deep awareness of how intersectional identities shape the way trauma is experienced, held in the body, and processed over time. Trauma doesn’t happen in a vacuum, but rather, unfolds within systems and relationships that impact how we adapt to learn to survive.

While life can bring great joy and success - it can also bring sadness and worry. It is in these times that a counselor can be most beneficial. I would be glad to provide you with a safe place to open up and explore the challenges you've faced. I believe that healing is possible and that life really can get better. Together, we can process how difficult life has been and we can begin to build hope and healing for your future.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
