The foundation of counseling should be a healthy therapeutic
relationship
between counselor and client. I help individuals learn about themselves and get more of an understanding of why they feel what they feel. Working with an individual to establish what and why when solving a particular problem should be a collaborative effort. I empower the individual by helping them realize that they do have the tools to be able to handle what life throws at them. We may not be able to control the world around us but we are in control of our own decisions and how we react.

Choosing a therapist is VERY important. It should be someone with whom you feel trust, comfort and in good care. If you don't, it's not a "good fit" because therapy is about the
relationship
you have with your therapist. I always say, "I don't do nails, hair or surgery so our progress is based on how you feel with me and the trust we establish". I am hard-working, dedicated, compassionate, perceptive and determined to do my best. I am passionate about this work. Anxiety, depression/mood, panic,
relationship
issues, ADHD, addiction, self-harm, name some areas of expertise.

When it comes to everyday life, we all can agree that it can be a never ending climb to our desirable selves. It is within these times, where our thoughts become clouded; thus influencing our decisions in a negative way. As a mental health therapist, I get the privilege to extend a helping hand to those who are tired of being tired. Individuals who want a change, but are unsure how or where to start. With these uncertainties in mind, I desire to connect with these individuals; in order to remove the cloud that has caused so much pain within their lives.

I work with adults and
couples
experiencing obstacles that are preventing you from living your most inspired life.
Making the decision to see a counselor can be difficult. It can be hard to admit when we need help. My goal is to create a relaxing atmosphere so that you can feel comfortable sharing your story. Psychotherapy is not about focusing on the problems in life, but more about solution building. Although it acknowledges present problems and past causes, it predominantly explores your current resources and future hopes, helping you to look forward and use your own strengths to achieve your goals. I will help you to learn more about yourself so that you can tackle any difficult situation with confidence, empathy, and skill.

We start therapy due to situational stressors or an ongoing stressor, such as mood disorders, anxiety or depression. I have been providing guidance, coaching and understanding for over 9 years. To maintain mind, body and spiritual balance is difficult, but not impossible, As a therapist, I have experience working with adults, teens, and children. I specialize in working with individuals with Trauma, anxiety, depression and ADHD. My role, as a therapist is to support each client in learning how to listen and properly respond to their mind/bodies on a daily basis.

Generally, each person and I begin by exploring the issues that has brought them to seek out my services. This exploration entails a joint effort that unfolds over time. A
relationship
is formed that helps us both to see more clearly how the individual is operating in their everyday life. It is through such an exploration that the individual begins to understand themselves, and, especially, their more intimate relating. I also believe that the person leads the treatment such that we will only go as far as each person desires. I can offer ideas, but, in the end, it is the individual who leads us.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
