I have been in private practice for 15 years and clients describe me as relatable, direct, intuitive, and with a good sense of humor. Some clients have said my style feels like therapy and coaching combined because I give clients active, honest feedback and get to the root of things quickly. You'll experience me as a real person who cares about your growth, with all of the appropriate boundaries but none of the sterility. Therapy should feel human after all!

You don’t have to keep holding it all together. If you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck in your thoughts, or weighed down by things you can’t explain, you're not alone. Life gets heavy sometimes, and it’s okay to need support. Whatever you're carrying, you deserve a space where you can slow down, feel safe, and start to heal. Together, we’ll slow things down and figure out what’s really going on, not just the symptoms, but the stories underneath them.

I work with adults struggling with depression, anxiety (including OCD & social anxiety), disordered eating/body image, PTSD & trauma (including abuse/ assault), and loss.
A wise philosopher once said that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Small changes, even increasing self-awareness, can collect and snowball into life-changing transformations. Although these changes and transformations currently may be hard to imagine or fully believe, we can still choose to bravely take that step. Whatever length your journey, I offer support along the road and a safe space for exploration, expression, insight, and transformation.

I bring nearly five years of experience supporting survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence in both crisis intervention and clinical settings.
After a traumatic experience, it's common to feel like you're constantly on edge—waiting for the next bad thing to happen. You might find yourself downplaying what you went through, telling yourself, 'It wasn’t that bad,' or comparing what you experienced to others. Maybe it feels hard—or even unsafe—to express your needs or set boundaries. You might feel broken, unlovable, or wonder if something is just wrong with you. If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone and you don't have to feel this way forever. Together, we can work toward healing in a space where your story is honored and your safety matters.

Sexual Abuse Therapists
How do therapists treat sexual abuse?
A good therapist will be nonjudgmental and possibly demonstrate active listening, repeating back what the client says to show that they have understood. These skills allow people to feel comfortable discussing their traumatic experiences openly. Some important treatment goals are to restore a sense of safety and to rebuild confidence. In addition to working one-on-one with the patient, a therapist might bring in supportive family members to assist the client.

Do you have to talk extensively about sexual abuse in therapy?
Survivors frequently find it difficult to describe what happened to them out loud. They can even still be in a state of denial if the sexual abuse occurred recently. It is important for survivors to acknowledge that what happened isn’t their fault and to challenge and reappraise any unhealthy feelings or thoughts as they arise. Art therapy and play therapy are useful non-verbal means of communication for some survivors.

How long does treatment for sexual abuse take?
Recovery from sexual abuse can be a long and difficult process. Some survivors are able to move on naturally on their own, given time, while others require the guidance of a trained therapist. Therapy needs vary and can range from a few sessions to months or even years. Healing from sexual abuse takes time, and everyone’s journey will look a little different.

Can trauma symptoms caused by sexual abuse come back after treatment?
As occurs in many cases of trauma, survivors of sexual abuse may experience PTSD-like symptoms long after the abuse has ceased or after an initial round of treatment has occurred. In such a case, there is evidence that prolonged exposure therapy is a useful treatment for survivors, and may be more efficacious than supportive counseling alone. While triggers may continue to cause distress, the idea is that, with time and repeated exposure, their power will fade, allowing survivors to move on with their lives.
