You’ve maintained this far. You keep pushing: just one more dish, one more email, one more day until the weekend. You’re holding on by a thread and you feel ready to unravel. The typical things you do to ‘reboot’ aren’t working. You feel disconnected, off, worn incredibly thin, and are very aware that this feeling is just lurking under the surface. With years of experience in mental health and a passion for helping people regain their inner strength, you can escape that slow drowning feeling you are currently experiencing. You are the expert of your life, even if right now you feel anything but, and I can help you find that path.

We strive to provide empirically established and structured mental health treatments while integrating psychotherapy, psychiatric medication management, and counseling. People usually find themselves in my office when life feels hard to untangle. Grief, depression, relying on substances more than you’d like, or the pressures of an increasingly scary and uncertain world. People who I work with have told me they feel comfortable quickly, which allows the real work of therapy to begin. I strive to be warm, steady, and unequivocally affirming. I have experience working with substance misuse/abuse, intimate partner violence, trauma, and grief. A part of my practice is dedicated to serving the LGBT community and the unique challenges they face.

The transition from high school to college and early adulthood can be exciting-but it can also feel overwhelming. Many students experience anxiety, academic pressure, relationship changes, and uncertainty about the future during this stage of life. Through secure telehealth counseling, students can attend sessions from their dorm, apartment, or home. My goal is to make counseling accessible and comfortable for students balancing classes, social pressures, and major life transitions.

I use CBT and incorporate elements of DBT and ACT into my sessions.
Are you exhausted? Maybe it’s the weight of addiction, the confusion of how to help a loved one who is dealing with addiction, or the quiet ache of depression, anxiety, grief, or trauma. You’ve tried to hold it together, but it’s getting hard. You might feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, overwhelmed by shame or stigma, or unsure how to move forward. You’re not alone— I'm here for you. Do you want out of an unhealthy or abusive relationship? Tired of enabling your partner, ready to take care of you? Learn to prioritize your safety and end the cycle. You don't deserve to be mistreated. You are worth it! Let's connect.

I utilize evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT), and Motivational Interviewing, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs.
Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, but therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating or overly clinical. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, respected, and genuinely heard. My approach is nonjudgmental, authentic, and conversational while remaining clinically grounded and goal-oriented. Therapy should feel like a collaborative relationship, not a place where you feel judged or like you have to have everything figured out before you walk in.

Life has its ups and downs no matter what. Whether that means a struggle with interpersonal connections, family, employment, mental illness or substance use. Having someone to help you through those times is truly critical. Finding the right counselor is even more critical, someone who is empathetic, motivated and dedicated to your health and wellbeing.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
