I believe in a holistic approach to wellness. Our mind and body are connected to make up who we are. It is often hard work to get better and it requires commitment and patience. There will be times you will want to give up, however, know that I will be with you throughout the healing process. I will listen with an open mind and sometimes push you a little out of your comfort zone. My goal is to help you heal past hurts, hang ups and traumas.

The ideal client would be an individual who is engaged in the process of change and healing. One who is open and willing to share. To take a quote from, The Purpose Driven Life, 'There is no growth without change, no change without fear or loss, and no loss without pain.' If it is time to let go of the old and experience the new, allow me to support the journey.

Life is about balance and balance is not something you find, but something you create. I utilize a variety of different therapy techniques to help individuals improve and grow in their mental health by exploring the imbalance in their life and by focusing on how they can feel better through change. My role as a therapist is NOT to solve problems for people but to help guide them on their journey to find resolution for themselves.

My ideal clients are bright, insightful adults, often with advanced education or lived wisdom, who on some level feel disconnected despite outward stability. Most have carried childhood roles like hero, caretaker, lost child, or scapegoat into adulthood. Some build careers; others raise families—many do both. Yet they often feel lonely, frustrated or unfulfilled in their relationships and/or careers. I work equally well with men and women of all ages. Whether outwardly successful or quietly holding it all together, they’re ready to stop performing and start truly living.

You might feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like you’re at a breaking point. You could be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, or trying to manage both mental health and substance use. Maybe you’re in recovery, or just beginning to notice patterns that no longer serve you. You may be looking for a way to feel more in control, to work through painful experiences, and to build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. Above all, you may simply want to feel safe, seen, and supported as you take steps toward meaningful and lasting change.

Alcohol Use Therapists
Are there specific medications for alcohol use?
There are oral medications approved to treat alcohol use disorder—such as disulfiram, acamprosate, and naltrexone, which also comes in an injectable form. These medications do help people reduce their drinking as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone helps reduce cravings, disulfiram can make a person feel sick when they drink, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.

How do alcohol recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other patients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals live at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff can also include people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other tools for recovery.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for alcohol use reduce the amount of alcohol they intake. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
