The areas I specialize in are anxiety, mood disorders, behavioral issues, women's issues, and relationships.
Making the decision to enter into therapy can be difficult, but finding the right therapist can even feel more challenging. To have success in counseling the most important element is to feel a connection with the therapist. Understanding the importance of the therapeutic relationship has allowed my clients to feel comfortable and achieve success in their therapeutic goals. I have practiced in this field for over twenty five years and still have the same excitement developing a therapeutic plan for each client and be part of their journey to success. Please feel free to contact me with any question you may have about counseling.

Have you ever felt like your identity, your relationship, or even your own body, were shifting faster than you could keep up? My approach integrates clinical expertise with somatic and body based practices like breathwork, sensory grounding, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help support nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, and whole person healing. Together, we work to reconnect you with your voice, your boundaries, and the parts of you that may have gone quiet in the chaos of caregiving, career pressure, or chronic stress.

I believe we all possess a deep capacity for healing and growth, but we don’t have to do it alone. As a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a graduate degree from Baylor University, my practice is built on the power of whole-hearted living. This means having the courage to be vulnerable, the strength for self-compassion, and a commitment to genuine connection. My goal is to provide a warm, non-judgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are. I believe effective therapy happens in the context of a genuine, trusting relationship, and it is here that we can do our most meaningful work.

My ideal client is one that is their authentic self in sessions. I find that when a client is open and honest about who they are and what they struggle with they are also more successful at achieving their goals. I typically see teens and adults who struggle with things like: anxiety, OCD, depression, perfectionism, fear of failure, grief, trauma, and life transitions. I find that most clients want to be heard, understood and validated.

Clients have expressed that my positivity and humor, mixed with realism and accountability, are helpful in the therapy process. Together, we will build an authentic connection and get to the core of recurring problems. My approach to counseling helps clients process their emotions at a deeper level, while collaborating on concrete, unique behavior changes to improve your life. In couples and family counseling, clients have described me as a "translator" helping each client communicate their thoughts and feelings in a way that their loved one can truly understand- while helping them build fluency in their own shared language.

Life can often get overwhelming. Whether you're struggling with depression, working through a traumatic experience, or grieving the loss of a loved one, sometimes you just need a listening ear. Therapy can provide that non-judgmental, supportive space to sit down with all of life's baggage and sort it out, piece by piece. Chances are, you know what to do next and how to keep going, you just need the time and the space to figure it out. When you sit in my therapy chair, you are the expert on you, while I guide you through the process of understanding yourself more deeply and more clearly.

Hello! I am so glad that you have taken a step in beginning or continuing on your journey of healing and restoration. I recognize that seeing a new therapist for the first time can be quite overwhelming in itself, so my goal is to meet you where you are at to be able to foster a healthy therapeutic relationship. Throughout my experience, many of the people I have worked with have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder or experiencing suicidal thoughts, but my goal is to look beyond the diagnosis and incorporate whole person care.

There are seasons of life that can be overwhelming and confusing. Counseling allows guides to come into your story and walk alongside you in a season of change. I work primarily with women and emerging adults who are going through life transitions (new stages, sudden loss, job/ career transitions, community ruptures, stepping towards new challenges, and more). I have also walked with many who are constructing and reconstructing their faith. Together, we work on clear identity formation, anxiety reduction, skill building, and engaging well in healthy relationships and communities.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
