I identify as a cis female, bi-/pansexual, ADHD -er.
Currently accepting new clients (updated 5/18/23). I work with individuals ages 18 and up. I'm a great match for people who are smart, sensitive, creative, deep thinkers, who might be a little on the chaotic/ messy side, forgetful, disorganzied, frequently overwhelmed, perfectionists that struggle to let go of control, relax, and have fun, or all of the above. It might be hard for you to say no, to protect your own energy, and talk to and treat yourself as well as you treat others. You may be plagued by guilt or shame of never meeting your own high standards, while also feeling tired, burnt out, and low on hope.

I believe it is important to meet people where they are and that everyone has the potential to grow. Sometimes it just takes a little extra support in order for people to get to a place where they can enjoy life more completely and feel good about themselves. When working with my clients I use a combination of psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches. I offer comprehensive counseling for adults and adolescents and have worked extensively with anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD , self-confidence issues, loss/grief, and relationship difficulties.

"I was a patient in 2009 when you diagnosed me with ADHD .
Finding a good "fit" with a therapist can have a significant impact on achieving a successful outcome. I strive to help each client discover and harness their unique strengths in addressing their problems. With children, intervention is orientated toward problem-solving family therapy. A cognitive-behavioral approach is often utilized when working with adults and teen. Psychological, and Neuropsychological Evaluations are intervention-focused. Tests chosen are "sensitive" to the diagnostic concerns and guide treatment. I help develop and implement practical behavioral management and social support strategies in real life situations, including the home , classroom or work .

Let's follow your natural ADHD curiosity to uncover what's actually true for you - not just what others say.
On the outside you look like you've got it all together. People see you as confident and hard-working and trust you to get the job done. But on the inside you're waiting for the other shoe to drop, worried that any day now, people will see the "real" you and be disappointed. You've spent years working to build a solid reputation, but can't shake the voice in your head convincing yourself to do just one more thing to achieve success, just one more, just one more, just one more. You're tired from the hustle and starting to lose hope that anything could be different. It's time for a change.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
