We find ourselves in others, through others, and with others. As relational beings, we are instinctively wired for human connection. Therapy is a collaborative process of uncovering this potential by cultivating a deep, trusting relationship. I believe it's imperative that therapy moves beyond merely treating symptoms. This is why I take a depth-oriented, relational approach in order for us to discover the root causes & work through barriers. I also believe in the importance of honoring the developmental, biological, sociocultural, and interpersonal parts of yourself to assist in the healing process.

Most of us act with the best of intentions and don’t always get the results we were expecting. As a counselor, my role is not to tell a client what to do, but rather to help clients examine what their goals are, different ways goals can be achieved, and to provide supportive and honest feedback through a therapeutic relationship. I have lived in and around very diverse communities throughout my life, and I take pride in understanding and honoring everyone’s unique culture and beliefs.

People usually find themselves in my office when life feels hard to untangle. Grief, depression, relying on substances more than you’d like, or the pressures of an increasingly scary and uncertain world.
People who I work with have told me they feel comfortable quickly, which allows the real work of therapy to begin. I strive to be warm, steady, and unequivocally affirming. I have experience working with substance misuse/abuse, intimate partner violence, trauma, and grief. A part of my practice is dedicated to serving the LGBT community and the unique challenges they face.

There's a kind of exhaustion that comes from holding it all together — managing anxiety, grief, a hard transition, or relationships that keep leaving you depleted — while quietly wondering when something will actually shift. You may have done the work of "coping" for a long time. What you're looking for now is something deeper: a space to meet yourself with honesty, slow down, and tend to what's underneath. Together, we'll explore your inner world with curiosity and compassion, bringing awareness to the patterns and emotions that shape how you move through life.I offer a warm, steady space that respects your pace.

Living with chronic pain and/or illness can take so much out of you. Especially when navigating the complexities of the healthcare system, it can feel like a never ending battle. It’s exhausting to keep pushing forward, managing relationships, a career, and/or education, when your body just feels "broken". You might wonder if anyone truly understands what it’s like to carry this weight everyday. You're so tired of just "getting by”. You want relief. These struggles are real, and you don’t have to face them alone.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.
Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.
Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.
What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
