Human beings are born with a desire to be seen, witnessed, and engaged in determining their life path. Yet, loneliness, identity struggles, and shame alienate us from our authentic self. My passion is supporting clients as they uncover their real self, their original self before shame and trauma, and find ways that feel authentic for healing and moving forward in life. I am interested in supporting the whole person – emotional, developmental, and life-transitions.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings including individual and group therapy. I have strong experience in working with adolescents and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, body image, school avoidance, interpersonal/relationship issues, trauma, and life transitions. I am bilingual and am able to provide services in Arabic, as well as English. I carry a strong foundation in person-centered therapy where I provide my clients with warmth, authenticity, and a safe environment.

I like to work with children. My ideal client is 4-10 years old. Children tell you what irks them through play and they are much less complicated than adults. I like to provide them with a holding environment in which they feel safe. I like to offer them back their feelings articulated and watch the look of recognition and thrill on their faces. I am also particularly interested in working with Arab American families: with mothers and their children. I speak Arabic and I think there is much need for mental health counseling in this community.
