I am a clinical social worker experienced in working with anxiety, chronic illness, life transitions and relationship issues.

I enjoy experiencing the growth of a therapeutic relationship, and providing a comfortable, friendly, safe environment to assist clients in learning to survive and thrive through difficult times, and make changes in their lives that they are proud of.

I have an innate desire to help people understand their strengths, as well as their weaknesses, so that they can live their best lives. After graduating from Boston College's School of Clinical Social Work I began working as an outpatient therapist for Sollars & Associates, a family mental health practice in the Metro Detroit area. My strengths lie with client assessment, counseling and treatment planning, with particular focus in interpersonal and family dynamics. My other interests include building social and community networks and spending time with my dog, Ferguson.

With an educational background in Criminal Justice and Social Work, Belinda is also a committed member of the National Association of Social Workers. Belinda has 5 years of experience in a variety of settings such as, child welfare, crisis counseling, adoption services and school settings. Belinda works with a variety of clients, including adolescents, young adults and women suffering from domestic violence and sexual assault. Belinda uses trauma-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, parent-child psychotherapy, while also incorporating meditative practices, relaxation techniques and similar strategies.

JCF Violet Flame is a holistic wellness center that specializes in trauma, emotional regulation and relationship/ family issues. We offer a variety of services that aid in helping people heal them selves and learn skills to live their best life. This may include professional counseling, meditation, art therapy, energy healing, breath work, movement therapy such as Qigong, DBT skills training, relationship coaching, spiritual advising, readings and intuition development which all work together to help create connections via mind, body, soul resulting in more awareness, inner freedom, and peace for purpose to unfold.

I earned my Masters degree from Wayne State University's Marriage and Family Therapy Program. I have worked extensively with adults, children and adolescents, specializing in assessment and individual and group therapy, while working in the Court system for 27 years. In addition, I have provided therapy in various outpatient settings. I have worked contractually at Thrive Therapy Group for six years.
