Clients are led with self-compassion, acceptance, and gratitude to explore alternative healing options and cultivate better relationships with themselves and others.
Hey, There! Is life stressing you out? Are you feeling lost, stuck, anxious, or depressed? Are you struggling to be authentic, motivated, and happy? Wanting a non-judgemental space to vent and process? I got you, fam. The pain of our past tries to convince us we're meant to struggle alone. Thats Bullsh.t! It’s courageous to choose to change. You’re brave for including a support system in this vulnerable moment of self-exploration.

You may be a successful high achieving person, but struggling with feeling like it’s never good enough. Perfectionism seems like a virtue when you’re succeeding, but any difficulties can throw your sense of self-worth off. I specialize in working with perfectionism, OCD, eating disorders, and anxiety.

I am a therapist who specializes in expressive arts therapy, anxiety, LGBTQIA+ issues, and trauma. I believe that everyone has the capacity for healing, and that expressive arts therapy can be a powerful tool for accessing and processing difficult emotions. I have been working with survivors of trauma for over 5 years, and I have seen firsthand the transformative power of expressive arts therapy. When people are able to express themselves through art, music, and dance, they are able to connect with their emotions in a new way, and are able to release trauma and begin to heal.

In this world, people lack kindness and compassion, acceptance of each other for who you are.
Why do you think people turn to psychologists? Because they want to change their lives. People want changes. If you feel the need for change, I can help you with this, because I studied at the Department of Neuro and Patho Psychology and I know how the cognitive functions of the brain work and how the unconscious is formed, which stores hidden files that prevent a person from development and adaptation. Step by step the road will be mastered by the walking. Let’s go.

A lot of things may be running through your mind right now, "How do I find the right therapist?" "Can she actually help me?" "How can she help me if I'm not sure what's going on?" along with past experiences in therapy or this may be your first time trying to find the right fit. I help by supporting you in identifying the "why" of how you think, feel, and act and we work collaboratively to move you forward in your goals. We'll discuss immediate coping skills to help you through the day-to-day and we'll do additional work to resolve larger themes that may be contributing to you feeling unhappy, anxious, or stuck.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
