As a queer-identified Social Work student at Hunter College specializing in Mental Health, I have been working primarily with LGBTQ+ adults experiencing concerns about their substance use, grief and loss, anxiety, trauma, and depression. Before working in the mental health field, I received my BFA in Modern Dance and danced professionally for several years. Because of this, I understand the importance of somatic practice as a way to facilitate emotional processing and growth and the importance of the mind-body connection.
I have an eclectic approach to therapy, primarily drawing upon psychodynamic approaches, behavioral therapy modalities, Narrative Therapy, somatic experiencing, and parts work. Through these lenses, I approach each client individually, recognizing the importance of connection, safety, personal awareness, and relational healing.

Queering Substance Use Recovery (Virtual)
This processing group takes a harm-reduction approach that explores recovery for LGBTQIA+ people at any stage of recovery. LGBTQIA+ people face unique challenges when considering substance use recovery. Most outpatient groups are based in a gender binary, rigid structures, and lack of focus on LGBTQIA+ issues. The purpose of this group is to create an environment that encourages people to interact with one another with different recovery goals, and approaches and processing the emotions that may come up with this. This mirrors the outside world and what participants will experience on a daily basis.
