I find CBT to be a great approach for helping people better understanding our thought patterns, what's happening in the brain, and how our history impacts us. However, we can only intellectualize so much before we need to learn how to be comfortable in our body, how to feel, and respond vs. react- so I incorporate many other tools (like mindfulness and nervous system calming skills) to help!
