I view therapy as a collaborative process where the client is the expert on themselves, and the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in creating change. It is important to have a safe, empowering, and supportive environment in order to examine hurtful relationship patterns and emotional difficulties, and in turn change negative self-evaluations to better respond to life's challenges. I am genuinely interested in and committed to helping my clients gain insight and express their needs in order to engage in more healthy relationships and live the life they want.
I am a licensed therapist and have provided therapy in many settings with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds. I particularly enjoy working with clients hoping to change unhealthy relationship patterns, and manage the effects of trauma, depression, anxiety. I specialize in helping clients struggling with eating disorders.
In therapy, my approach stems from an emotion focused, attachment based and interpersonal approach; and I use aspects of cognitive and dialectical behavior therapies. Interpersonal Therapy Group for Eating Disorders
Embarking on the recovery journey can be a scary experience, and it is important to know you're not alone. This group is designed to give you a space to connect to others who are new to recovery, develop realistic expectations about what this process holds, and work to increase and sustain motivation to continue your journey. Each session will start with a topic related to recovery, which could include broad themes or specific skills to support your process, and will then open up for group discussion where members can share their thoughts and feelings.
