My mindfulness-based approach supports you in being less identified with habitual ways of thinking and feeling that can keep you stuck in patterns that no longer work. I have helped many clients learn to be less reactive and more compassionate with themselves and others
My approach is grounded in mindful and compassionate study of present moment experiences (thoughts, feelings, moods, body sensations). I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Gottman Method Therapy, attachment-based psychotherapy, and mindfulness-based body centered therapy
I am a seasoned therapist committed to helping you clarify and reach your goals. Heart of Freedom Mindfulness Meditation on Zoom
This drop-in class is offered on a donation basis and is open to anyone interested in learning how to mindfully meditate, or deepen practice. It includes guided and silent sitting in the practice. It also includes a talk on topics related to mindfulness meditation. There is also an opportunity for informal discussion and for questions related to practice. The focus of Doug's teaching is on the cultivation of compassion, loving-kindness and wisdom through being fully present for the ever changing joys and sorrows of life. The Spring 2024 Basics of Mindfulness
If you want support in establishing a daily mindfulness meditation practice, or deepening practice this is the class for you. During this six-session journey you learn mindfulness of breathing, the body, of emotions, thoughts, of mind and of the application of mindfulness in daily life. The benefits of this include: 1.
